Why do you think you need to update Firmware?

Ask them direct. There are no download sites and they don't offer it. It is Budget price Chinese junk. These DVR and Camera Bundles are a one-time offer and they move on to the next iteration.

sounds like your into dvr's even more than i am, but I have two- 2tb hd's, one on my dish dvr and another on a stand alone dvr that i have not had time to figure out how to use ,yet.
I wouldn't mind knowing what v2.82.ro9 dvr firmware is and what it does.email me if you feel like telling another keen hobbyest.

you might come up with a download if you try going to google.com and typing in download v2.82.r09 -dvr firmware

I would also try bing.com and yahoo.com and ask.com

Same here. Updated firmware system rebooted and locked on the Night Owl screen. Mine is the FS-8500.( DVR model FS-500 ). Anybody find a fix to the issue? I believe the firmware is in the motherboard. Anyway to hook to PC and "push / force" the firmware into the DVR. Or some tyoe of master reset. Or is this thing bricked for good.

If it cant be fixed, do you know where I can get a new motherboard with firmware installed. Tried talking to tech support but am fighting with them over the issue. Pretty freaking useless over there.

Pioneer has released Firmware for the DVR-107D DVD Writer and DVR-A07XLA & XLB DVD Writer. This release # is 1.18.

(a ZIP file download, but uncompresses to an .EXE, as does theflashman.rpc1.org site download. I can't uncompress the EXEs with Stuffit (standard) Expander v7.0x here, but Scott said he used version 8.0.2 )
Looks like we are getting closer to Dual Layer Support:
(although some have flashed NEC ND-2500A drives to DL 2510 model firmware, I doubt that Pioneer will release an official firmware update for the 107D to add dual-layer burning. Like other mfrs, I suspect they'll sell a new drive model with DL burning support.)

did u try using a cd cleaner the dvr only accepts cdr not dvd try using the usb port with a thumb drive to see what happens

there is a hole in the middle or to the side of your player. get a paper clip and stick it, go in slowly, and push. it should come out.

Some high end speakers have a fuse to protect the tweeter (treble). Reverse the speakers. Does the problem follow the suspected speaker? If so, the defect is most likely on the crossover inside the speaker.

What do you mean by best place to locate parts?
