Flash Sum

  1. Have you tried cold starting it; disconnect it completely from the mains for ~10 mins, then reconnect and try again.
  2. It is probably a problem with the EPROM or the CPU. You could try resetting the software by holding in the STOP button while turning on the power to the unit. If that doesn't work it sounds like the EPROM is corrupt or the CPU is bad.

My pioneer dvl-v888 no power at all.

Likely that it's just a fuse, take the cover off and replace the mains fuse located close to where the power lead is, if it blows again, you will have a power supply fault. Phil

Pioneer DVL v888 disk tray will not open. There is a disk in it.

There isn't a way to open it by hand without removing the cover.

As for fixing the tray, there might be a few reasons why its not working. When you press one of the eject buttons, do you hear the usual whirring of motors? If you do and the tray still does not open, then the problem may be a broken rubber belt near the front.

If you don't hear the whirring of motors, then try playing the disk. If the disk does not play either, then the disk loading mechanism is out of sync and may require manually resetting it. This is accomplished by carefully pulling the spring loaded carriage upwards or downwards until it responds to the play button. Be very careful not to touch any of the exposed electrical components and capacitors, electrical shock may occur.

You need to remove the cover and expose the area where the motor sits close to the front, you will find a broken belt, replace that, if you can't get to the screw to remove the assembly, use your fingers or screwdriver to turn the cog so that the drawer is manually opened. make sure power cable is unplugged first.
