Replacing a damper motor - Sharp R967 MICROWAVE AND CONVENTION

Hi,
Should the damper door be closed when off and when the microwave is on and open when the convention is on?
I am not sure as the orientation of the new motor was slightly out and I needed to turn it to fit. Thus not sure whatis right and wrong.

I bought a Sharp Microwave Oven with Sensor, Grill and Convention functions, R-967(SL)M, a few years ago in London, United Kingdom. Problem: Now, each time the timer counts down to 1 second (for example, 1 sec. or 2 mins. 1 sec. or XX mins 1 sec.), the heating function just stop as long as the timer shows 1 second. In addition, I relocated to Hong Kong and the local Sharp customer service refused to provide any repair service (even if paying!) since I did not buy the product model in Hong Kong! The warranty period has ended, hence there is not an issue with warranty service. Appreciate if any expert(s) out there could kindly provide assistance or at least offer a direction/suggestion which I could pursue to get the appliance back to working again. Thank you!

The damper should closed when in convection mode and open when in the microwave mode, to keep the heated air inside the cavity.

Microwave oven stops after 59 seconds

This is a problem in one of the damper-related components, either the switch or motor or the damper door may be binding.

The damper is a door inside that opens or closes depending on cooking mode. If the controller senses that the door is not in the right position, it will shut down the cook cycle.

Sharp-made models stop after 59 seconds.

See the attached sample drawing for a typical damper assembly.

This is a problem in one of the damper-related components, most likely the switch, but it may also be the motor or the damper door.

The damper closes and opens depending on cooking mode. See the attached sample photo.

The damper is a door located on the right side of the innards. The damper closes and opens depending on cooking mode. See the attached sample photo.
