Hello,

Virtualhost supplied a part of the manual. Basically you cannot control the shutter speed as in some cameras. The shutter speed is automatically set by selecting one of 11 different scenes. From night shots (which will select a slower speed) to the high speed shutter setting for sports and other action shots.

The scene selections are given on page 28 of the manual. Here is a link.

(Note: If your camera is not a DSC-T700 please use the Comment button to let us know.)

Thanks for using Fixya.

For the slower shutter speeds, select the TWILIGHT or TWILIGHT PORTRAIT scene selection.

Feel free to rate my solution also. It's not required but it is how we get rated on Fixya. A Helpful or Very Helpful rating would be much appreciated. Have a great day.

SOURCE: d 80, controling shutter speed

dear hydet

use 'Program Shift'. This will change the values for both aperture & exposure, but keep the overal exposure value correct. Eg if the standard values are 1/60th of a second at f5.6, then rotating the dial in one direction will change the parameters (first) to 1/30th & f8, etc, and turning it in the other direction will change them to 1/125th & f4.

oke, post in me back

thx

When I make photos during the night... they are ok.. just like a normal photo but when i make them during the day... they are so brighted... i think ive changed something on my cameras settings... but i...

I don't have a menu walkthrough for that model unfortunately, but according to the specifications sheet, here are the things to look for:
1. ISO - You probably want it set to auto for normal everyday pictures (ie not silhouette, or intentional washout) If its set to 400 that might have been the problem.
2. Exposure compensation you want this towards the middle for normal shots if its towards +2EV that can cause it to be washed out or weirdly colored.
3. Make sure you don't have manual settings for aperture and shutter speed. If you have a wider aperture (lower numbers) and a longer shutter speed, this can cause the picture to be too bright.
If you're having difficulty finding these options and can't solve the issue, please reply and I'll try to look through the manual to find specific steps.
Please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks.

I would suggest you take the camera in to a qualifed service tech for a CLA (clean-lube-adjust). Like any mechanical device, a camera shutter could use periodic service.

Hoe do i set different speeds

In S and M modes you control the shutter speed directly by turning the command dial on the back of the camera. In A mode the dial controls the aperture which indirectly affects the shutter speed. In P mode the dial shifts the exposure to another equivalent exposure, which also changes the shutter speed.

Adjusting shutter speed

Hi - There is no direct way to set the shutter speed. This camera relies on the selection of a "scene" mode to automatically set the speed and aperture. All you can do is select the scene mode closest to your lighting conditions or the type of picture you are taking. Something to guide you are the speed & aperture numbers in the bottom of the LCD screen as per 11 and 12 in the picture below from page 7 of the manual:

a867810.jpg

The other thing you can change is the ISO speed see page 21 in the manual.

Experiment & let us know how it works out!

I have a VPC-E760 sanya digital camera and i dont know how to change the shutter speed

This is a fully automatic camera so it's not possible to set the shutter speed directly.
All you can do is to choose one of the "scene" modes according to the situation you want to capture:

You can download the manual from the link underlined in blue below:

Shutter speed

You can get much information from the EIXF file generated by the camera with each picture. i think you right click on the picture and select properties. Ed
