You have some type of sediment setting in your ice, have you changed the filter recently? City water has all kinds of thing in it - ice is where you can really see the junk.

the under side of ice maker should be very warm. this is the heater that warms the ice mold . if its not hot ( warm) the the ice harvest is slow or not at all . if heater is bad or mold ruff or warn out . the ice mker wil have to be replaced . you can clean tray and use a food grade silcone and it will help if heater is ok .. mm .ps some times the ice cubes are too small and get jambed in the slots . if so adjust the cube side ( more water adjustment . this will correct the problem mm ..
if you have selected cubed on the door and still wont dispense cubed ice likely cause is the cubed ice solinoid( located behind the panel in where the auger motor is located) thats the motor that turns the curly thing in the ice cube resivoir.....!!!
The inside coating has come off the inside of the ice maker . The white " flakes " is calcium deposits , sticking to the exposed cast metal , inside the ice maker , and sticking to the cubes , after water freezing in the mold . You need to replace the ice maker .
Your selector solenoid is not working. Next to the auger motor there is a selector. You will see a plastic peice in a hole to the left of the auger.....Try to move it up and down. If it won't move it is more than likely frozen in one spot. Try to defrost it. If that does not work then replace the solenoid.
Yup, do like I did. Clean the caddie of all ice cubes. Place a large water catching tray under the door, and run hot water from the inside where the the caddie holds the ice. You will see large chunks of ice that was freezing up your cube maker. After a couple of glasses of hot water pouring through the caddie, it will defrost and the frozen part will be released. Take off the caddie, and run water through it from your sink. Clearing all ice debris. Replace the caddie. Do not use for 24 hours, and it should run beautifully. Mine did that before it froze up and I cleaned it. You should probably take the caddie off every couple of months and run water through it to keep it clean of frozen debris, make sure its dried off well and put it back, wait overnight. and it should be ok.
This is what I did, hope it helps.
FINGERS THAT EJECT THE CUBES WAS JAMMED ON WHITE PLASTIC. REMOVED ICE MAKER THAWED CUBES IN THE TREY AND PRYED AWAY THE WHITE PLASTIC COVER. RE-INSTALLED
Hey there....
The white powder in your ice cubes is the water line to the dispencer,The water in the pipe forms a white layer after some time, almost like the kettle around the aliment, you just have to clean the pipe out,i normaly use some hot water with a bit of vinigar, just make sure you flush the system after wards and there you go....
