I have a 3rd or 4th generation Ipod touch that my daughter gave me ....the wifi is grayed out. I tried to reset my wifi box already and it didnt change a damned thing ..still greyed out.. will someone...

The first thing to check is to be sure that the device is not in airplane mode. If that setting is turned on then the wifi is disabled. If that setting is ok then try this: Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.

How to Fix iPhone 6/6 Plus Show WiFi Problems

"Anyone experiencing really slow WiFi on their new iPhone 6 Plus? Mine is super slow. When I switch off WiFi, LTE works perfectly and very snappy. I didn't have any issues with my 5s and not having issues with my iPad Air. I doubt it's an iOS 8 issue because the 5s and iPad Air are running iOS 8. WiFi also works fine on my 13" MacBook Pro Retina. It's not a router issue. Any ideas??" asked by Mikef91 on the Apple's office discussions.

As one of the leading wholesale cell phone parts supplier online, DBXStore find some solution for you to fix the show wifi problem on your iphone 6/ 6 plus.
Greyed-out, slow or no Wi-Fi signal at all are among the top three biggest Wi-Fi headaches. Even though the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus came with iOS 8, Wi-Fi problems are still not completely avoidable. Before searching for solutions to Wi-Fi related problems, always update your device to the newest version of iOS. If that doesn't work, then it is time to dig deeper.

1. Reset Network Settings

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This is a solution suggested by Apple Service. Resetting your network settings including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPNs, and APN settings; which flushes cache and clears DHCP settings and other networking related information.
2. Disable Wifi Network Services
Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services.

This only relates to your location being used for network and not the Wi-Fi itself.

3. Switch DNS To Google

Often times, if your ISPs DNS servers are having problems, you can switch to Google DNS by going to Settings > Wi-Fi then tap the "i" icon next to your router, scroll down to DNS and tap the numbers, then enter "8.8.8.8". Restart your device and check if it works.

4. Change The Routers Broadcasting Band

Change the routers Wi-Fi broadcast from an N network to a G network, or from 2.4GHz to 5GHz - this depends on your individual router hardware.

5. Factory Reset

Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings > Erase iPhone.

Last but not least, restore your iPhone and set it up as a new device.

Other tricks like placing the iPhone 6/6 Plus in a refrigerator, freezer it for 15 minutes, or the opposite using a hair dryer to heat up the device might also be of help.

However, if all these software related tricks don't help, it could possibly be a hardware problem with the Wi-Fi antenna. Then the only fix is to replace your antenna with a new Wi-Fi antenna replacement. Here are links to the parts and tutorial guides' for reference.

Wifi connectivity problem in iPad 2

You can try forgetting your network and then joining it again by going to settings, WiFi, the network you are on, then "forget this network", then find it again and join it. If that doesn't work, then you could reset all your network settings by going to your settings, general, reset, then press "Reset Network Settings".

My iphone 5 and iphone 5s cannot connect to wifi

Do they work on any other wifi networks? If you haven't tried this try this first of all. If it works on other networks but not your own then call your internet service provider. Try to connect other devices to your network - If non-Apple devices connect then your wifi security settings might need to be upgraded.

If they are working on other networks:
Try to turn on airplane mode by going into Settings > Airplane Mode. Leave it on for at least 10 seconds.
If that doesn't work try to reset your network settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Still not working? Next try a restore to factory settings. First, back up all your information. I recommend a backup through iTunes as well as making sure your pictures/contacts have another backup. If this is a software issue you won't be able to restore your iPhone from a backup, it will bring the glitch back. Plug it into a computer with the newest form of iTunes - click on the restore iPhone button. When you test out the phone, do not restore from backup. If the problem is still there you have a hardware issue.
Apple stores and the Apple help line can run a diagnostic to see if you have a wifi hardware issue too. If you have a hardware issue you can get them to fix it (free if it's in warranty) or try to take it apart and replace the parts yourself. This does void the warranty.

I can't connect my ipod to the internet

If you're having trouble with your wifi connection, try to follow this steps.

* iPod Touch shows no WiFi address (Tap Settings > General > About and scroll down to WiFi Address.
* iPod touch appears to be connected to a WiFi network but cannot use Wi-Fi for checking email and surfing the Internet.
* iPod Touch WiFi icon is showing as grayed out.
* When you tap Settings > WiFi and then you see no network entries.

If you have wireless problems, here is another method to do.

First you need to back up your data by syncing your iPod touch to iTunes. It is very important you do this before proceeding with the fixes below.

1. On the iPod Touch go to Settings > General > Reset and then select Reset Network Settings. Now see if the device displays the WiFi address under Settings > General > About and scrolling down to WiFi Address. If there is a WiFi address listed then you issue is resolved. Else try method 2 below.

2. On the iPod Touch go to Settings > General > Reset and then select Erase All Content and Settings. Now see if the device displays the WiFi address under Settings > General > About and scrolling down to WiFi Address. If there is a WiFi address listed then you issue is resolved. Else try method 3 below.

3. If the above fixes don't work then the only thing left is to restore the iPod touch software using iTunes which will erase all data on the device. So before restoring make sure you back up your data by syncing with iTunes.

After the restore is complete, you can resync with iTunes to load the data back to your iPod Touch. Now see if your device shows a WiFi address (tap Settings > General > About and scroll down to WiFi Address). If none of the above settings and fixes work ,then you might want to consider getting your iPod touch repaired by Apple.

I have hiphone 4 wifi i can't setup internet setting claro pr: internet connection failed

The question is kind of vague but I would try one more time to make the iphone connect to the wifi. It that doesn't work, then try to reset your network setting. (Settings--General--Rest--Reset Network Settings) If that does not work you can try to reset the whole iphone or choose to do a restore, but you will lose all the preferences that you changed. Before doing either of those, I would make sure that the problem is not on the wifi side, try hooking up the wifi to a computer or another smart phone. Hope i helped.

My Iphone wifi button is grey out

Resolution First, sync your iPhone or iPod touch to iTunes to backup your user information, Contacts, Calendar, and other data. Then try the following steps in order.
One On the device, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Check to see if the device now displays the Wi-Fi address or Bluetooth address (tap Settings > General > About and scroll down to Wi-Fi Address or Bluetooth). If there is a Wi-Fi address and a Bluetooh address, then you're done with these steps and you can resync your settings and your media using iTunes.
If there's still no Wi-Fi address or Bluetooth address, then continue to step two.
Two On the device, tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Check to see if the device now displays the Wi-Fi address and Bluetooth address (tap Settings > General > About and scroll down to Wi-Fi Address or Bluetooth). If there is a Wi-Fi address and Bluetooth address, then you're done with these steps and can resync your settings and your media using iTunes.
If there's still no Wi-Fi dddress or Bluetooth address, then continue to step three.
Three
  1. Restore the iPhone or iPod touch software (this erases all data on the device) using iTunes (see article 305744 for additional assistance).
  2. After the restore is complete, sync your previous settings (mail settings, text messages, notes, call history, contact favorites, and so on).
  3. Now see if your device shows a Wi-Fi address and Bluetooth address (tap Settings > General > About and scroll down to Wi-Fi Address or Bluetooth).
If there is a Wi-Fi address and Bluetooth address, then you're done with these steps. If there is no Wi-Fi address or Bluetooth address, then continue to step four.
Four If there is no Wi-Fi address or Bluetooth address listed after doing the above steps, then your iPhone or iPod touch may need to be repaired. See the iPhone Service FAQ or iPod Service FAQ for additional service information.
