TSST Corp CD/DVD W TS-L632D ATA Device not working properly

I have a TSST Corp CD/DVD WR TS-L632D ATA Device ON MY laptop its 2yrs and 4monts old. The problems I have with the Device not read. It will read Data disk's some time, C.D/DVD Disk's and some Movies. But If I try to put any other movie in.. Say a Disney Movie, or a Pixar movie it will not read it. Yet it says the Device is working properly. I have had this problem since I bought this Laptop at dell since 2007. Its seems like I get feed up with this drive now

Have a look at the manufactueres site on the internet to check compatibility with the dvd zones for your disks you have.
ie zone 1,2,3,4 etc ...japan,europe, australia or new zealand america

the formats the disk is written in depends on the type of info the reader will understand,if the movies were downloaded from the internet then you will also need the media player that was used to convert them to be able to veiw them.

a New replacement dvd drive and c/w software for a desktop is around $20-00 to $250-00,laptop replacement drives depend on the model and make and applicantions your have in mind ie dvd burning etc

The laser maybe out of focus. Some movies will play and some won't. I had the same problem. Had it fix @ my local shope around 50 bucks. If this helps
