Sunds like a tv issue. I would try to connect a dvd player or vcr to it to see if that works to eliminate the service provider first, if it still doesnt work its the tv.
This sounds like a loose solder joint, or overheated component. I know this may sound like a **** question, but have you tried tapping the TV to see if it goes away? If it does, you will need a tech to re solder the loose component. I have also seen this type of line and color bleed problem, believe it or not from poor cabling or loose connections.
I found one of these at the dump with the same issue. Bought a Z sustain board for $75 , replaced it and it works great. I plan on installing some PC style cooling fans in the cabinet as heat is what destroys these sets
Did you see the back light at the back. If yes, the problem may come from T-Con board. Try other source like playing DVD AND If THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN, you may think of the main board defective.
The tv will show correctly in 720p mode. Cable box and PS3 must be set to display in 720p or the green tint will remain. For the PS3 I return it to 1080p when I am about to play a game, blu-rays and dvd's can only play in 720p.
Unplug the power cord from the TV set and leave it unplugged for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back into the TV and turn it on. It should work. This is not an uncommon problem for the Akai line.
Try using different inputs besides the RF input. Connect your PS2 and DVD player using component inputs. With two component inputs, there's no reason in the world not to do this.
I have a similar problem with my AKAI 42 inch plasma, now my whole tv is purple. all you can do is contact akai warranty and have a service provider come out. but let me tell you, it is not an easy process if the service provider cannot help you. after the service provider told me that my tv was a goner. it took me two months to get a box to then send the tv back to an akai service center. now i have to wait a month or so, before i get it back. i wish you good luck.
