Starting problim showin problem wen i inset my cam in usb slot it is not detecting it

sir my pen drive detected but not work. pl suggest me for solve the proble. I am using winxp ser 2 pack.

go to device manager, right click the "my computer icon then go to device manager", see if your system detected the device, if not detected there is a posibility that your webcam is broken or there is a problem in the cord or may be your usb slot is disable.

if the device is detected by your system, simply reinstall the right driver and software of your webcam.

You have to transfer them to your computer, which you can do one of two ways. You can use the usb cable to connect the camera to a usb port (windows will auto-detect your camera), or you can use a card reader to transfer your videos to the computer via the usb port (some printers these days have card readers on them, and windows will auto-detect them when you inset them with the printer on. Please try the drive in another PC if the problem persist then try to format it by right clicking on the drive icon and selecting format if still the problem persist then the drive is defective.

make sure the usb cord is not damage, plug the cam and see if the system recognise it by finding new hardware.

Try a different USB device...see if the PC detects it.
If other devices, like a flash drive run, then your web cam is dead. You can try the web cam on a friends computer to see if it's ok.

If the web cam is good, and no USB devices work in your USB slot, You can check the USB controllers in the "Device manager"

right click "My Computer"
select "Manage"
select "Device Manager"

Click the + sign for "Universal Serial Bus controllers"

check the usb settings enabled in the bios or the cable inside the laptop.In some case the usb cable inside get fault and it will not detect the web cam.In normal case if you plug any usb device it will detect the usb device then the os will show new hardware found and will allow you to install the software for it,if it doesnt detect you cannot install the driver for it and in the yahoo messenger it give the message
