Camera does not work in record mode

I would hope you have tried removing the battery, charging it and replacing it first already. The next thing I would try is to set the camera to factory default options.

Hi, Here is the procedure on how to play the video clip on your camera. Play mode If you have turned on the camera by pressing the POWER button, you can press the PLAY MODE button once to switch to Play mode and press it again to switch to Recording mode. You can turn the power on with the play mode button. The camera is turned on in play mode. Press the play mode button again and the camera will be turned off. You can set up the PLAY mode function by using the camera buttons and LCD

1. Select the PLAY mode by pressing the play mode button.
2. The last image stored on the memory is displayed on the LCD monitor.
3. Select the recorded movie clip and press the Play & Pause button to play back.
- To pause a movie clip file while playing it back, press the play & pause button again.
- Pressing the play & pause button again will cause the movie clip file restart.
- To rewind the movie clip while it is playing, press the LEFT button. To fast forward the movie clip, press the RIGHT button.
- To stop playback of the movie clip, press the play & pause button, and then press the LEFT or RIGHT button.

In 1990s Sony camcorder records movie in analog format so playing in digital camcorder like DCR-TRV730 doesn't mean it will be converted in digital format and you can not import file in PC for editing purpose. You will get analog signal while playing back old cassettes.

Regarding SP, LP speed, its decided at time of recording. Camera sens SP or LP automatically in playback and set itself accordingly.

If you want to convert old cassettes into digital format, connect our camcorder to DVD recorder and burn DVD which is digital format, copy DVD files in to PC and do desired editing.

Some cameras you CANNOT play back on the camera, but it only works on the computer. Nothing is wrong, because that camera is basic. So yeah.

the problem of your camera is the ccd image sensor...better go to the sony service center for replacing the image sensor..i know it is free for replacing that sensor cause that is one of the model that sony recall produc and the cover not open error message is a poor contact of the lens cover switch...

The JVC C-Format camera can have one of two seperate problems that cause this symptom. The connector to the CCD comes loose and causes loss of video. Charging the batteries was the first move. Charge for at least 14 hours, and never shoot on low batteries. If the battery gives out while you are recording to memory, it can corrupt the storage media. The lens should work normally with a fully charged battery.

The movie mode function allows you to record short movie clips. The recorded movies can be played back or stored as still images using the cameras index function. Please note that the D-390 does not record sound in the movie mode.
