SOURCE: Are there any homemade treats or should I just but treats for my cat?

Yes there are. You can find many recipes for treats online and to me it is a better thing to do than going to the store and buy, I think it is much healthier for your cat. You can find some homemade treat at http://www.petplace.com/cats/homemade-treats-for-your-cat/page1.aspx

SOURCE: If I treat my dog on a permanent basis, should I use low-calorie treats?

In your case, choosing small low-calorie treats is the best thing you can do in order to keep your dog slim and healthy; although in case your dog is active you should enjoy more flexibility in choosing the right treat.

SOURCE: My dog is overweight and I don't want to take his treats away from him entirely. Can anyone suggest some good treats for a doggie on a diet?

I saw a good idea for overweight pets. They can have their treats (yes, low fat and low calorie if possible) but make the pet do increasing work for them, like running from one end of the backyard to the other, then in the park, to get the treat.
