Question about Carrier 52FE312-3 Air Conditioner

Need to access inside of Carrier air conditioner.

Carrier Thru-Wall/Window Air Conditioner/ heater...Need to access the inside front fins for cleaning. How do I get in there?After I romove everything easily removable - like the front, the cover, etc., there is a styrofoam piece that doesn't seem to come out that is blocking.Thanks!

After removing the cover and filter, you should be able to see the fins for cleaning. If there is styrofoam in front of the coil, it should not be there for proper operation.

Does the Frigidaire FAH106S1T Thru-Wall/Window Air Conditioner recycle inside air or pull in air from outside? Also, how do I close the vent on this model?
yes it does recycle the inside air - it 'does not' pull outside air in (in the air conditioning mode).
The 'exhaust/outside air' vent - 'if it has one' (some don't these days) will usually be a manual pull/push lever, although I guess it might be a electrical/electronic switch.

My air conditioner keeps freezing up
Probably 75 to 80 percent of all air conditioner service calls are repaired by simply cleaning the coil fins. If it is a window air conditioner, unplug it from the wall, remove the front cover and brush the coil fins using an up and down motion. Next go outside and brush the outside coil the same way. Then blow through it with water. Too much water pressure can also bend the cooling fins. The inside coil if extremely plugged up can be washed also but it will be necessary to remove it from the window to do so. If this doesn't solve your problem, chances are that it is either low on freon or the compressor is weak. It may be time to look for a new one. I hope this helps

clean your return air filter, and while you have the front cover off you may want to clean the evaporator as well (it's the silver grill looking thing) some compressors come off their springs during transport and will rattle for years but still work fine.
