It's a twist off cartrage in the upper right hand side of the refrigerator section. Refer to your owners manual for instructions.

The water valve has two sides. One side is for the ice maker and one side is for the dispenser. If the dispenser side fails you have to change the complete dual water control valve. What is the model number of your GE Refrigerator? Sea Breeze

the damper door assy located in the upper left corner just left of the water filter of the refrigerator compartment probably has a broken damper door shaft on one side and has jammed in this position,this is very common with G.E. SxS I have glued these shafts back together with good success,but you may want to just replace it

I have no water, I removed the filter and there was pressure.at the filter, it almost blew off.
It is a new filter? Some filters may clog. If you already replaced it, check the hose under the freezer door. Be sure the hose is not kinked.

Change water filter and water won't dispense
Was water dispensing before filter was replaced? If it was then maybe filter needs to be purged to get air out of line. Only 3 other issues it could be. 1. water valve coil on back of fridge is bad. 2. Water reservoir is frozen up behind shelves in freezer section. 3. Your microswitch behind dispensor cover isnt activating water valve coil. Not much else could be the problem. Start with the valve

NO DRINKING WATER
common problem the water line inside the freezer door is frolzen up . to fix remove everthing from the freezer door , turn off freezer . open freezer door and put a blanket over the opening to the freezer leaveing the door to room temp for an hour or so to defrost . check if defrosted . remove blanket close door . this will happen with ge , try seyying the freezer control on the next lower number (warmer)
