Question about Zenith A25A23W 25" TV

36A43 Toshiba picture size

I have a problem of not seeing the outside edges and the picture is too big for the screen size. I went thru all of the menu options and there is nothing about a screen ratio on this set. Please help. Are there any reset buttons or switches on the back of the set or am I missing something to fix this problem.

Philips magnavox 6P6030 W101 picture is too big and can't see the outer edge of the full picture

Not easy with a older set----look to see if a physical control exists in the set for Vertical size (picture too tall) and the adjustment may only exist in a hidden on screen menu.

Fitting picture to screen size

on the remote control you would see a key that it say P.size , if dont have this key go to the menu of your tv not the cable box menu , and go to picture a look for something that it say picture options under that you would find the screen size and you can get the right screen size

My son was bouncing a small ball against the screen and then it went to looking like a rainbow. Would this be the picture tube?

He may have caused some type of damage to the picture tube, but usually rainbow effects happen when magnets are present. Perhaps the ball became charged with a large amount of static, which then discharged across the tube, damaging the controlling circuits.

Make sure the RCA jacks are in INPUT not OUTPUT. Also see if the channel matches the jack that the RCAs are in.

I need to know a bit more. Does to sound give any noises when the picture is jumping? Reason is this would suggest the high voltage breaking down, which could be caused by dust or very high humidity, so check the location of the set. If dust has collected inside you need to clean it out with a long artists brush, but beware if you do not know about high voltage danger. Dust can also cause overheating and shutdown. Is it only the satelite box which causes trouble? If so then you may need to alter (attenuate) the input level of the Video signal. Could you contact the dealers?
