Mitsubishi WT-42311 My t.v. doesn't turn on when the power button is pushed. When I press input and menu code "22" flashes. This a warning for "short protect" I am not sure where to start looking for the problem. The fuse near the power supply does not look to blown. Can anyone help me with this problem. I have the service manual but, it only tells me the dignoses, it does not explain what the actaul problem could be. Tanks a million! I seem to have the same problem as "Mulchy". My neighbor had the Mitsubishi WT-42311 Rear Projection T.V. One day it just stopped turnng on. Not being too technical he said if I could fix it, I could have it. If you push the power button, it lights green for about 2 seconds, and you hear a click inside, but then it shuts right back down. I've got it pulled apart in the basement and there is a glass barrel fuse (3Amp) close to where the power cord plugs in. That fuse is fine. There are some small green fuses directly on the board, but those appear fine also. Sort of stuck at this point.

My best guess is that the convergence IC's have failed and blown the +24 volt and/or the -24 volt fuses.

Hi,

First do a hard reset. Merely unplug the power cord for 4 hours, then restart it. This will correct it if the cause is corrupted soft codes.

If not, the protection circuit has captured the power management and you must have it looked at by a service tech.

Have you acessed the power indicator error code by pressing in the menu and input buttons on the front of the set both in together and hold in for 5 seconds? The led will blink a series of blinks to indicate a 2 digit code which will repeat several times. Let me know what the blink seqience is.

When i press power the timer light flashes and the T.V. turns on and right back off.

If model number is WT-42311 do the self check the set has.

When power light comes on and then goes off, on front of set press both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at the same time and hold for at least 5 seconds and then release both buttons.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like: 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and the repeat the code several times.

Let me know what the error code is and I will tell you what it means.

do the self check this model has and let me know what you find:

when it shuts off press ON THE FRONT OF THE TV both the menu and input (or device) buttons at the same time for at least five seconds and release both buttons.

The power light will blink a two digit error code.

for example---2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks (this is the most common error code)

Let me know what code you find and I will tell you what it means and what can be done.

WT 42311 won't power up

All that is wrong is the Convergence IS's. They are located on the deflection board (IC8C01 and IC8C02) and are mounted to a very large heat sink. They are black and are STK IC's, STK392-110. Replace both IC's with STK392-120 and you're in business. The -120's are and upgrade and have a higher amp rating. The IC's can be found anywhere on the internet for $9.99 and up. Check Electronix.com, MCM Electonics, Mat Electeonics for starters. Gook luck. Gary D.

Most units give a error code "22" short protect circuit. If so check:

Q5A00
C557
and or the
convergence IC's (STK392-110) had failed and caused a diode (D522) to short
out.
If Q5A00 check bad there are other parts that have to be checked or
replaced.

I have the same problem and although I haven't actually solved it yet, upon disassembly of the product (mitsubishi wt-42311) i saw dark spots on the power distribution board, (the one the cord plugs into), in about the middle of the board. this is a sign of a burnt component due to an overload or short. I also noticed a crack in the board(more visible from the bottom side) right around the main power relay (the thing that goes click when you turn it on). I am looking for a new power dis board to see if this helps. If anyone knows where I can get one affordably please let me know.
