Hi, Is there anywhere a mouse or similar critter can get into the condensor or other parts of this refrigerator. It smells like something died in there?

Condensor fan should start when the compressor starts. If the condensor is hot at top and bottom, turn the refrig off and check the fan for power, should spin freely by finger, and coast to a stop. Good Luck, Bill
One of the two fan motors is most likely starting to go. It would either be the evaporator fan located in the freezer behind the rear panel. Or the condensor fan located behind on the bottom behind the rear panel. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. Here is a couple links that should help http://appliancehelponline.com/refercondenserfan.html http://appliancehelponline.com/sxsevapfan.html
Refrigerators used to use a low wattage electric heater to warm this area in order to prevent condensation from forming there. Now, in an energy concious world, they use a loop from the condensor so "waste" heat can be used for this purpose. If the refrig has been running a long time, this area can become rather hot.
There may be mildew on the condensor (the big radiator inside the attic) and/or the water drip tray underneath it may not be fully draining causing the odor.
Your senses get "used" to the odor. Your brain will mask it so that you will be able to sense other odors.
Replace the return air filter more often. clean the airway taht the filter covers. Spray Lysol will help temporarily.
You must check the condensor & water drip pan.
Remove the blower motor and see what's inside the cage. You might want to wear disposable rubber gloves in case you find a dead mouse or something. You may also need a mirror and flashlight to look around in the blower opening to find the critter. After it's all cleaned out you can spray some lysol disinfectant in the hole, on the evaporator fins, and the blower cage to remove some of the odor.
I had a similar problem, & found out that what was making the noise is the cardboard siding on the condensor(bottom of the cooler) I placed a "shim" between the cardboar and that took care of the noise.
Hello,
I had a similar problem with my battery going dead in my Logitech mouse. There was a "aa" battery located under the rear top cover. it's the part that has the Logitech logo on it. You simply press the button underneath the mouse @ the back that has a LOCK symbol on it & lift off the cover. Put in a new battery & you should be good to go.
