I have the same exact problem with my 52 inch. Turn it on and you get picture for one second and then it cuts itself right back off. I have the same problem with my exact same model tv. It tries to turn on 3 times in a row by it's self but then stops and never comes on. Then I push the power button like 50 times before it will try to come on and still it never comes on.I have the same problem with my exact same model tv. CK for Bad capacitors on your Deflection Board its the bottom board on left hand side cp150 cp114 cp120/ if (cp150)- 2200uf 16v is puffed up on top It is Bad replace all 3 capacitors 220uf 35v is the other 2.
most likely cause are the cP150, CP114 and CP120 Capacitors. You can get the repair kit for that at www.tvrepairworld.com which contains the capacitors and the CD with instructions.
The flashing light opposed to a solid pwer indicator light usually means it needs to be serviced. I wouldn't reccomend home repairs, but repairs sometimes cost more than the product. You should compare prices and such before making your move.

Replace this:
2200uf 16V, 220uf 16V. Upgrade to 35V.
Located on power supply- deflection board.

Liz, yes it is a power supply problem, better question is; low voltage or high voltage power supply ? count the blink code, it should repeat the code, once you have the code call your local tv shops and give them the model number of your tv and the blink amount and they`ll tell you price to fix, gl, video-tek
Open up the front and check for fluid under the CRT circuit boards. The
one on the right (as you face your TV) is the blue one. For some
reason, the diaphram for the glycerin in the blue optic is on the back
side and leans down. It tends to leak and spill on to the circuit board
below. Tell tale sign is the pool of fluid when you access the front chassis.
Pull off the speaker grill and shine a flashlight on the inside
underneath the CRT circuit boards and look for the fluid. Glycerin
doesn't dry. TV is powering off most likely to protect itself from the
shorts.
