My new Xbox keeps shutting off

This is probably a result that a small part of the disk is damaged and the reloding code might have been broken. To test this try to play for as long as you can without reloading to see if it keeps happening. If the disk is damaged no cleaning will fix it.

There is a requirement for backwards compatibility and that is you have to have a hard drive for your Xbox 360. If you bought a Core system you can't play original Xbox games on your system until you buy a hard drive

You cant since its recommended for xbox360 games

it means the one that wont read is scratched, dirty or defective, my advice is to clean it if its dirty, get a cd repair kit if its scratched or take it back if its defective.

yamaha doesn't really work so well with microsoft because it is a different company (brand) try getting a ethernet cord and plugging it into a modem if you dont have 1 try getting a wireless microsoft thing so that everything works out well

my halo sometimes does the same thing when i start up the game but pressing a usually gets you through it, but if your xbox 360 overheats within minutes and is an older xbox 360 its usually a burnt out fan or just full of dust, if its old then ur warranty might already be out and if it is just open up the xbox and use an air compressor or anything else to get all the dust out of the xbox. in my case everything was just caked with dust. anyways... good luck

Try resetting the modem that might help. Because the problem is with your modem not sending the right packet to your xbox. and dont use a computer while doing this or try birdging the network watch my video on youtube for it. Hope it helps. And if it dosnt work then contact xbox live support.

Open your saved games menu in the Xbox Dashboard, and erase the new maps created.

Then Restart Halo 2

I would take it back for a new one...
Halo 3 is notorious for overheating the console...

On both of those times you got H3, did you happen to move, or did the console fall while the game is play?

Do you normally have the console vertically or Horizontal?

But you may be under warranty which you can get free replacement.
