These "export radios have two audio chips. one for receive and one for transmit. Did you look at the s meter to see if it wasnt receving at all or you just didnt have rx audio?

Some CB Radios require the mic works right or the receive won't work. Also it could be a detector diode bad. I have also found cold solder joints ( broken lead from the PC Board ) around the if sections. You might take alook with a magnifing glass and see if you can see any bad joints. Good Luck

I have a new cobra 148 with ssb, about 6 months old, while i was away there was a storm, now the radio doesnt work , recieve or transmit, i also have a cobra 29 ltd that wont transmit but it will recieve....
make sure the mic is good. If for some reason the mic went bad, it will not receive or transmit.

As for the one with no receive, it most likely needs a new final.

If lightning hit your antron, it would be in pieces.

CB radio recieves but does not transmit.
I would recommend that you put an swr meter (CLICK HERE) between the radio and the antenna to see if your radio is transmitting anything at all. Also, it will check to see if your radio is correctly matched to your antenna. If your antenna is not matched correctly it will fail to transmit correctly.

make sure that your [swr] hadn't changed or went higher than a 1.5, anything higher will interfere with your tranmitting an recieving. other than that with out being there to see an hear your radio this would be the first place to start.

Most of these kinds of radios will have two audio chips , on for transmit and one for recieve.sounds like you popped the recieve audio chip.
