PS3 screen flash / sound cut-out

Occasional while flash on the bottom half of the screen on the home page / occasional sound cut-out as well on the home page. When a game is played no flashing or sound cut-out occurs. I have 2 HDMI ports in my LG TV, so i tried switching the ports to see if that would make a difference: it didn't. Just got the PS3 the other day. Had an XboX360 before that didn't have a problem with sound / video.

The PS3 has an issue with what's called the "HDMI handshake" between the PS3 and the TV. The PS3 does not even realise that this is happening. What you might try to do is turn the system on, play a game, and when the flashing and no sound occurs, unplug the HDMI cable from your PS3, wait a few seconds and plug it back in. This may resolve your issue. If it doesn't work, try component cables, there is no known issue with this problem occuring with this type of connection. Good luck!

Why would i get an occasional high reading over 100 on the bottom? is it a malfuntion?

You need to be sure your cuff is at heart level when reading. If cuff is down by your lap, reading will be abnormally high this way..
systolic is when sounds cuts off.. Diastolic is when they pick back up again. Does that make sense to you?

Screen goes blank and standby light keeps flashing red

How to fix ps3 yellow light of death 3. tips first

1)Turn off your playstation 3. If you think your ps3 has been caught by the heat, then wait at least 20 minutes and put it back on again

2) Check if there's any loose cable.

3) Try to put out your playstation's hard-drive, and put it back in. You might want to repeat this 2-3 times for better results.

If this did not work, then there are 2 options left for you on how to fix your ps3 safe and fast!

Send your playstation 3 back to Sony

You might think that this is an great option, but take a look at some statistics. Most users had to wait at least 4-6 weeks before they had their Console back. And also, if your warranty is expired, you have to pay a big fat $150,- to get the job done! Does this still sound as a good option?

What is broken my hdmi cable,ps3 unit or the hdtv?

I would suggest this (you haven't said what kind of tv you have). I have a 37 in vizio, and a 25 vizio flatscreen HD tv. I had my PS3 hooked up using HDMI first time I tried it I got the little pixels you were talking about...so do this. Sounds stupid but it helped me. The HDMI cable where it plugs into the tv plug and unplug a couple times (three times worked for me. Do the same at the PS3 side of the cable. You want to do this with both of the machines off. Also make sure you have the PS3 configured appropriately for your TV settings...There is a way you can auto setup the screen and sound by shutting the PS3 off and holding your finger on the power button for like 5-10 seconds (it will beep twice) then let your finger off the power button.

When my HDMI cable went bad it would go from having a picture and sound to having no sound and a picture, to no sound and no picture. I thought I had a bad HDMI slot...but it was just a bad HDMI cable

Prints complete lines with occasional lines half height of letter

Your printer cogs may be damaged or your paper rollers could be slipping resulting in this "odd" output.

Paper rollers can be cleaned with an appropriate cleaning kit but if the cogs are damaged it's not worth repairing.

Screen split with black bar through center, top of picture shows in bottom

It sounds as you desribe, the vertical output IC and or the b+ feed capacitor off the Hi voltage transformer feeding the vert. IC its required voltage. Not a really hard job to replace, but not for a handi person to do. This should be left to the professional, as there are no user serviceable parts inside this set and with the HI voltage and the safety issues its best to call somesone to assist you with this repair. Good Luck
