you would need to reset to factory default setting for the exact problem you are having -- forgetting the password. so your question is "YES".
The Restore Default Settings feature will erase any previously saved
settings and restore all of the settings to the default.
From the XMB™ home menu, go to (Settings) > (System Settings) > [Restore Default
Settings].
The message "Do you want to restore the default settings?" should
appear. Select "Yes" and press the button.
You will then see a message, "All settings will be returned to
default settings. Are you sure you want to continue?" Select "Yes" and
press the button.
All settings are now restored and the system password is reset to
"0000".
The Culligan N8 Custom and Estate 2 water softener systems are basically the same system. Here are a couple links for N8 manual to reset timer and Est 2 manual for other settings on systems that have "DIP" switches to set gallons settings.
hold in the "clock" button until the hour flashes
use the forward & back buttons for the cd player to set the hour. (located just to the right of the equalizer" button)
once the hour is set, press the "clock" button until minutes are flashing.
use the forward & back buttons for the cd player to set the minute.
once done, press the "prog.set" button below the forward & back buttons

Set the Clock
1 With answering system on, press MENU until the system
announces,?Change clock.?
2 Press CHANGE until the system announces the correct day, then
press TIME/SET.
3 Press CHANGE until the system announces the correct hour, then
press TIME/SET.
4 Press CHANGE until the system announces the correct minutes, then
press TIME/SET. The system announces the current clock setting.
5 Press an MBOX/STOP button to exit programming.
