First i'm sure you have checked all fuses. Second you need to test if you have voltage coming out of the remote wire. If not and no fuses are blown then something shorted out internally and you need to run 12 volts to the remote wire on the amp. You can do this by using a switch and running a wire to it from your fuse box, or you can find which side of your fuse box is switchable, which means that when you turn your key to the on or accessories position that power will run to the remote then. Make sure you don't use the constant power side or your amp will remain on all the time. Now, if everything is fine and you have power on the remote wire coming from the head unit going to the amp and no fuses on the amp are blown then something is shorted inside the amp. Then I suggest you take it back where you bouhgt it if you bouhgt it at a store and your able to return it. Ifr this is not an option then I own my own amp repair business and if interested I can repair it for you cheaply. I am the cheapest you will find anywhere. Most of my customers are from this site. If interested send me a private message by clicking on my name. Hope this helps you out, let me know please so I can continue to assist you if you still need more help. Good luck

Where does the remote wire for amp go to on sony xplod cdx gt520

their should be a blue white wire on the back of the radio. this wire is called the amp turn on wire connecting to this wire will provided 12 volts when the xplod cdx gt520 is turned on but if you press the off button on the radio the 12 volts will drop to 0 volts but when the radio is turned on the 12 volts will come back.

I recently installed my sony xplod to my jeep and the radio, volume works fine. when i insert a cd, i hear nothing, counter and track displays but no sound...please help

are you using an amplifier? if so, it sounds like you are using the blue wire (antenna remote turn on) instead of the blue/white wire (amplifier remote turn on) to turn the amplifier on.

My amp works on tuner but switches off when i change it to cd

The remote turn-on wire from your amplifier is connected to a blue wire behind the head unit. That's a power antenna activation wire, so the amp only turns on when the tuner is on. Switch it to a blue/white wire from the head unit instead; that should be the amp remote turn-on output.
