SOURCE: handwheel does not disengage from needle when pulled out (11206 model)

Phone the shop where you bought it and arrange to take it back...this should not happen to a new machine....and if it is something you are doing, they will be able to advise you, if it is the machine, they will sort it out under warantee.

The timing has been knocked off when it jammed. The only way to
correct this is to take it to a shop and have it retimed. This is common on these machines.

SOURCE: Locking disk on handwheel won't lock and I can't wind a bobbin

If the stop motion wheel is stuck and you can't free it the best way to do it is to stand at the end of the machine, get something that looks like a chisel or something that has a flat end even a screwdriver, put the end of the screwdriver in a slot on the left hand side of the stop motion and give it a sharp thump down, it worked for me for years, the only problem you may have is if you do not have any slots or grooves to put the screwdriver in.

SOURCE: HAND CRANK WON'T MOVE NEEDLE SEEMS TO HAVE LOST CONTACT WITH GEAR

adjustment info here. http://www.parts.singerco.com/IPinstManuals/15.pdf

And here is a manual for you. http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/34_sm15.pdf

Those stop motion pieces must be put together correctly. Also make sure your needle is fully seated into the needle bar. Also look for any binding of metal parts. I had a 128 that came to me with a bent take up lever that would catch and make hand cranking difficult.

Good luck.. you'll love your old singer when you get it going well. Take your time and try not to get to frustrated.

One more thing... this blog is awesome if you are working on old singers.

How to fill bobbins on Pfaff 332

The Pfaff 332 has a stop motion mechanism that is a small knob in the middle of the hand wheel. This disengages the needle and allows you to wind the bobbin without having to check on the material to be sewn. Hold the hand wheel so that it will not move. Turn the stop motion knob counter-clockwise (turn the knob all the way to the left). Put a second spool of thread (of appropriate weight and color) on the right hand pin. Lead the thread from the spool around the thread retainer clockwise. Pull the thread into the guide and then push the thread through the slot in the bobbin from inside the bobbin. Place the bobbin onto the bobbin winder spindle so that the key at the base of the spindle enters the slot in the bobbin. Press the lever into the bobbin. Hold onto the thread end and slowly start to wind the bobbin. After a few winds of the thread, break off or cut the thread that is above the bobbin. Continue winding the bobbin (at any speed). When the bobbin is full the lever will automatically move back to its original position. (If you do not need a full bobbin, move the lever when the bobbin is sufficiently full.) Remove the bobbin from the bobbin winder spindle and cut it free of the spool thread. Return the stop motion mechanism to the right by turning it clockwise while holding the hand wheel.

Pfaff has a manual for the 332-260 on their support page: http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Support-and-Updates/Support . The link to the machine page is http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Support/3421 . The current link to this manual is http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/pfaff_332-260-manual-EN.PDF . See pages 13-14 of the manual for some pictures of the guides and levers.

I hope this helps.

My Pfaff 1471 keeps spinning when I'm winding bobbin. It won't lock needle from going up and down

You probably didn't disengage the sewing machine mechanism. Hold the hand wheel steady so that it will not move with one hand. Use your other hand to rotate the knob in the center of the hand wheel towards you. When the unit is properly disengaged, the motor can't move the needle bar. When done winding the bobbin, you need to hold the hand wheel and then turn the knob away from you. See page 9 of the manual for the Creative 1471. Pfaff has the manual on the product page: http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Machines/creative-1471 . The current link to the manual is http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/creative1471-manual-EN.pdf .

I hope this helps.

My singer hd110c handwheel seems loose and it just stopped moving the needle up and down. how do i fix it?

Does it have an inner wheel that disengages the machine to wind the bobbin? If it has been turned counter clockwise, it has disengaged the machine so all you need to do is turn it clockwise to engage the machine.

Trying to wind bobbin on my pfaff sewing machine but the bobbin doesn't tur

Hello Kathy
Make sure that:
1. The correct bobbin is being used ... make sure that the bobbin is the one specified for your machine.
2. Make sure that the bobbin is pushed all the way down on the bobbin winding spindle.
3. Make sure that the bobbin winder is engaged ... pushed over for winding.
4. Make sure that the thread is not tightly wound around something preventing it from advancing onto the bobbin.
5. Refer to page 18 of the Manual. If you need one, it is available for free at:
PFAFF tiptronic 6232 Instruction Manual Page 22

May this get you back to sewing very quickly. Please give me a thumbs up if this is helpful, otherwise send me more information.

How do I engage the bobbin winding gear for Pfaff 7570?

To disengage the needle while winding a bobbin do the following: the handwheel on the right end of the machine has an inner knob. hold the outer rim of the handwheel stationary as you rotate the inner knob counterclockwise. Also make sure the bobbin winding peg is pushed over to the right and the bobbin is seated on the peg.

Needle does not move

I'm not sure about this particular machine but bump the bobbinwinder over, it should move one way or the other. Also there is a knob on the side on the inside of the handwheel. This is probably loose and you need to hand tighten it a bit. When this is loose it disengages the handwheel from the shaft so your needlebar won't go up and down while you wind a bobbin.
Hope thats it. Good luck.
