Look at the computer tower if desktop or laptop, look for the make and model aka dell inspiron and then look for the service tag code, this will allow you to search for drivers that work with your model. hope that helps.

You can get the sound driver from the motherboard's manufacturer site if WinXP does not have it readily. The device manager will show if the devices are installed properly or it will show some yellow exclamation marks.

I have ask you already how to install the dual boot os(Windows xp and Windows 7 ), but i don't complete yet .Can you explain to me again step_by_step in great detail ? because when i install windows xp...

Hello, this is how I dual boot my laptop with windows xp and windows 7

1. Backup all you important files, use an external hard-disk if possible
2. Make sure you have two drives or partitions: usually drive C and D
3. Insert your xp cd, do a quick format of drive C and install
4. Boot into windows xp and format format drive D if necessary
5. Insert your windows 7 DVD and follow the prompts. When it asks you to upgrade or new install, choose new installation
6. When you are asked to choose a location choose drive D
7. Complete your windows 7 installation
8. Thats it, you can now install drivers and programs

When installation is complete you will see both os options: windows 7 and previous version of windows (i.e xp)

I have done this numerous times without the need for any other step or software. The only rule is to is to install xp first, then windows 7.

All the best

Hello, no sound on motherboard Asus P4P800; probably no good driver for AC97 on this motherboard. Can you give me a good hint. The best would be *.iso file of Asus CD for this motherboard. Thank you....

I would strongly recommend you to re-install the sound driver. If you don't have or if you don't know the correct driver, you can download it from HERE. The selected drivers are for windows xp, you may need to reselect the Operating System (O.S) from the O.S: box on the page. If the installed O.S on your computer is Windows xp, click the "Audio" link and download from the download links (will be displayed once you click the "Audio"). Download and install, it should work if there's no other issue with your sound card or etc..

Let me know if you need further help.
Good Luck.

Can you change the langauge of a computer, my mate bought a computer at a boot fair and it is in spanish, ( the language) is there a way you can change it to english

I can help you change your language, but I need to know the Operating System installed on your computer. (i.e. windows xp, windows vista, windows 7, etc...).

It would be easier if you can somehow read spanish, let me know whether you can read spanish or not. If you are not, i have to include some illustrations and icons (graphics).

Awaiting.

Computer will not start up After Windows splash screen Computer reboots itself. gives options for safemode, lastknowngood, start windows normally. but when selecting any same thing happens computer...

Hi alizae68,

It sounds like your Windows files are corrupt. My suggestion is to use your recovery disk if you have one, if not use your OS disk and repair windows. They way you repair is to put the disk into the CDROM, and when the computer asks if you want to boot to the CD press any key, Press a Key! Then Window will load certain files, and do it's thing. Go past the request for acceptance using the F8 function key, and then it will look to see if you have an existing Windows program, at that point you can choose to repair the existing windows, Don;t install new or it will create a new location to install to. It won't erase your files. From XP SP2 on windows always creates a backup folder of the old or original OS and stores it for you to access.

After it repairs your system, it will reboot and you should be fine.

Good Luck

I have two operating systems on my hard drive.

Hi,

You can manually disconnect the IDE/SATA cable temporarily from your motherboard (the one with NT PRO & XP HOME), then you can cleanly install a Windows XP on your new Hardisk. And after installing, you can re-connect the other hardrive on your computer and format it under your NEW Windows XP, be sure to set the BIOS BOOTUP sequence that you boot on the right drive.
