I run mine day and night while home and clean and re-fill it every morning. I also use one of the room odor eliminators in my Rainmate. Fill the water one inch above the line about an inch off the bottom of the water container.

with a wet or dry old tooth brush. use a firm one though. you can also dip in a solution of CLR mixed with water, then wip it dry. dont forget to clean the spicket by turning it counter clockwise and using a q-tip or baby bottle nipple brush . do this under running water. good luck
If you are having issues associated with dry sinus, and it is cold where you are located (with heating unit running), then yes, a humidifier will increase the relative humidity of the air and possibly decrease the issues you have with dry sinus, regardless of manufacturer. You need to look for a humidifier that provides for a decent humidification rate, in terms of gallons per hour. The higher, the better. And, with that, you want a decent water tank storage amount, or you will be refilling all the time (the smaller the tank, the more often you have to refill.). Also look for a humidity control, but don't pay a lot for it. The more humid the air, the harder it is for more water to evaporate into it. You would really like around 50%-60% RH in your home.
I have one and it isn't much, it's just a single sheet. If you want tell me what you need to know and I'll try to help you by telling you what I've learned while trying to understand how to operate the one I have.
Hey im a dealer for Rainbow. RockyNR1 is correct but let me just add that you can fill it to over the line if you want as long as the 'misting' still happens, be careful that the bowl is not near the edge of the surface as the spinning water might make it fall off the side. How long the water lasts is also very dependent on how large the room is that its in. Lastly you should be able to leave it run for 24/7
Hey im a dealer for Rainbow. RockyNR1 is correct but let me just add that you can fill it to over the line if you want as long as the 'misting' still happens, be careful not to place the machine too close to the edge of whatever it's on as it may fall off. The rainmate can be ran 24/7 (mine does :D)as a side note the only upkeep it should need (other than the water of course) is check the little hole on the bottem of the spinner. if that is ever clogged just punch it though with a toothpick.
Remove the tip by twisting 1/2 turn and it will come off! use a Q-tip and clean it out! Replace and should work just fine!!! From time to time it gets gummed up!
