Hello,
Even though the ignitor glows it does not mean that it is working...sounds crazy but it is true... the ignitor needs to pull a certain amperage to let the gas valve open and as they get older they stop pulling enough current...

Is the oven working now? test to see if the broiler is working too....if broiler working and oven not you need to replace the ignitor http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-fgf316-%3d%3di12872&PartID=12872 normally when an igniter gets old it will take a little longer to ignite the gas hence the gas smell.

Replace the oven glow bar ignitor.

sounds like an isue with your bake ignitor, common issue with all gas ranges, repace teignitopr and youll be fine

This is normal with a gas range. The oven is lit with an ignitor (the glowing that is seen) - it glows first then the gas comes on and lights up shortly afterwards. There is no clicking sound for the oven (at least not for the model you have)

This could be a defective ignitor (glow bar) or gas valve (safety valve). If you gently tap the safety valve and it lights up very likely ingnitor problem

Tip - do not change the safety valve first even if the ignitor seem "ok" if you gently tap the safety valve and the flame comes on initially but fails to come on after awhile after each"tapping" - the ignitor is the most likely culprit

Gowen, more than likley it's your ignitor that failed. Remove the ovens bottom panel by removing the 2 screws in back and lifting up. Remove the nut from the flame spreader and you will see the ignitor. Now turn the oven on and look at the ignitor, does it glow. Even if it does, it needs to draw at least 3.2 amps to open the gas valve. Part number for the ignitor is 5303935066. Easy job. Catriver...post back.
