you may want to try switch to a next usb port or replace the usb cable. it just seems more like your pc is not getting the correct reading from the usb connection.

try to reinstall the driver again once you swap the usb cable to other port.

test by switching your printer on and off again to see if the same error pop up saying new hardware detected. if it does happen again. uninstall the driver & download it from www.samsung.com

Can be tricky... DO NOT use a USB/parallel convertor. Either use USB only or parallel only to connect to your computer. I would NOT attemp to use a USB/serial convertor either.

If your computer does not have a parallel then best plan is to get an old PC with parallel connector and transfer data to it to be sent to the Designjet.

You pretty much said it when you mentioned "Other than buying the cable in the first place" I have never successfully used a USB to parallel converter cable on any system. My suggestion, asisde from getting a true USB printer, is a parallel port card

The drivers might have a tough time recognizing a 250 as a usb device on your computer. There wasn't a USB interface created as an option on your copier. Does your copier have a network adaptor on it?

One idea that will work on your copier is a parallel print server either wired or wireless. I've done this for a few of my 220/250 customers.

You need to get the exact photo paper for this model.
The ones that comes with the flaps on each ends.
Without the flaps, the printer won't print.
