How do I set up my Coby 5.1 home theatre system. I have no clue when to even start.... PLEASE HELP!?!?

Step 1 Select locations for each of the Coby 5.1 speakers. Place the correct channel speakers in the best location possible. For example, a right-rear speaker should not be placed to the front left of the TV.
Step 2 Measure and cut lengths of speaker wire that run from each speaker to the Coby receiver. Include a few extra feet for mistakes. The speaker wire has two color wires, a red (power) and black (ground).
Step 3 Attach the red wire to the positive (+) terminal for each speaker. Attach the black wire to the ground (-) of each speaker.
Step 4 Make sure the receiver is unplugged. Examine the back of the receiver. There are speaker terminals for each of the speakers. Plug each speaker wire into its respective terminal. For example, plug the right-rear speaker into the right-rear terminal. Each terminal is clearly labeled.
Plug RCA cables into the appropriate input ports on the receiver. For example, there are RCA ports for the TV and DVD player. Plug the other ends of the RCA cables into their appropriate devices. For example, the DVD input on the receiver plugs into the audio output port on the DVD player. RCA audio cables are red and white, make sure to match the colors correctly: red with red, white with white.
Items you will need
  • Speaker wire
  • Wire stripper
  • RCA cables

I have a HT Z220 Samsung home cinema and a new tv (LG M2352) I've connected it via the satelite box or cable receiver so have surround sound but is there a way I can attach my laptop to the surround...

Get a mp3 player adapter, it will have a headphone jack on one end and the red and white cables on the other end. Plug into the headphone jack on your computer, and plug the red and white jacks into the Aux input on the receiver. I didn't look at the link, but most receivers have a Aux input on them. That should solve your problem.

Could you please tell what cables & wires come with the sony home theatre system ht-ddw1500 even a picture of the cables/wires will be great.

Two good documents are here in English/Spanish under "Manuales":

http://esupport.sony.com/LA/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=HTDDW1500

Neither one lists any included wires or cables. Any external devices you wish to attach will usually come with the required cabling. The rest is just plain old speaker wire for the speakers.

I was given a Sharp HT-DP3000 reciever and all the speakers that go with it.. but I don't know how plug in the speakers into the wire there is a box for the two surround and a separate box for the right...

Do you have speaker wire if not you will need some, the wire is cheap about $5 bucks a roll your local department store will have it. You see a red and black tabs on the back of the unit and on the back of each speakers you push down and stick one wire in the hole. red will be your + and black will be - The two surround go on the back wall behind your seat. The center will sit on top of TV and the sattalite speakes go beside the left and right side of TV. and the sub sits on the floor in hidding behind something or under a table. (P.S, Make sure the wire is shaved about 1/4 of inch before you stick in the wire DO NOT plug the power cord in, intill you hook up all the speakers this could damage the unit. You do not need a sub woofer, if you have one great If not don't worry that will not damage the unit it has a internal switch to turn on/off the sub woofer The sub woofer offers extra deep bass that you can't get from the sattalite speakers.)

My main unit will not connect to the rear unit

I had a similar problem but mine cut out intermittently.
First, check to make sure the speakers are plugged in solidly. I was plugged into an outlet with a fancy cover and it caused the connection to short out intermittently.

2. Make sure all your wires are securely attached to the receiver unit.

3. If that doesn't work, try turning off the wirless speakers and the Home Theater system and then turn on both of them.

If one of these doesn't work, Samsung has chat support available onlline.

Good Luck!

Remote quit working on Sharp HT-DP3000

I know this answer is kinda late for the original poster but I have that system and have been using it for more than three years with no remote. All you do is plug it in, the unit should be in stand by mode, then press the large power button on the front off and then on. The unit will click and then power on. :)
