A case of which came first the chicken or the egg, Power supply board may be the issue or the sustain board--have you looked for the usual bad caps on the power board?
I have the same exact problem...for a few weeks the TV would turn off and the red power light would blink. Then the other day I started having exactly the problem you describe...green screen for a few seconds and then total shutdown.
Do not use the chat online service, it's not so helpful, the'll just tell you that your machine has a bad component and thats what electronic components do. Then they will just tell you to get a technician to fix the problem... What a waste of money...
I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.
