Sound on Compaq evo d150. The next site says:
http://www.orixrentec.com.my/hp_4.htm
Audio: "Integrated Intel Audio with Premium Internal Speaker".
So there should be a:
* speaker inside
* working on an Intel driver.

The chipset of the motherboard is Intel 845G.
The AC 97 audio driver can be installed by online detection of
your hardware using the Intel driver update utility:
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/detect.htm

When using a PCI-slot for extra sound, the matching driver of the
PCI-audio-card should be installed. Of course external powered and wired speakers will be required as well.

Missing Multimedia Audio Controller (device manager) I'm running windows xp ver 5.1 sp2 Compaq 0804h motherboard Need a Multimedia Audio Controller for Evo Compaq d310 PC Microtower

Best place to look is the Compaq website. If you cannot find it there, you could try using a driver finder program to locate the right driver for your sound card. Those programs will identify the hardware by device id and use that together with the Windows info to get a matching driver.

Hi sdd555,

Restart the computer after plugging the USB keyboard into a different USB port, or remove the keyboard in Device Manager and then refresh the system to work around the issue. This will cause the device to be re-enumerated and the driver will be reloaded.

Good Luck,

Sound Drivers

Only drivers available for this model are the ones for Windows XP.

Some Windows XP driver can work on Win 2K, as the two system have the same infrastructure, just give them a try.
