SOURCE: Amp is on, Subwoofer works, but no sound.
here is a short test you can try, remove the rca audio cable from the amp & connect a diskman or toher audio o/p device that you can hook up with the same rca wires, turn on the amp & see if you have sound. you can also remove the speaker wires from the sub & using multi meter read the ohm's of the sub, most subs are 4 ohm. Hope this help locate your problem

SOURCE: no audio output - Marantz 2238
This can be as simple as a poor connection somwhere in the voltage regulator circuit or a defective driver transistor or output transistor. In any case, this is a simple repair for any shop that works on vintage receivers. If it is the outputs, that will be the most expensive repair from a parts perspective. The outputs will cost in the $5-$10 range for each one and it could be 2-4 pieces. If you wish to attempt this repair yourself, you will need a multimeter that has a diode checker. Let me know and I'll provide additional details and instructions.

If you are not looking for a warranty repair, any shop that handles high end audio repairs should be able to resolve this for you. Before you ship off the pre-amp, verify that it is, in fact, the pre-amp that is defective. The initial stage of the power amp can cause this as well. Try hooking up another pre-amp instead to verify the problem location.

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V2700 no sound from any speaker outputs
Make sure that you have the correct input signal selected.
Also, check if the sound is not muted.
If you have a multi-room speaker switch, make sure it is set correctly to main speakers.
