SOURCE: Amp is on, Subwoofer works, but no sound.

here is a short test you can try, remove the rca audio cable from the amp & connect a diskman or toher audio o/p device that you can hook up with the same rca wires, turn on the amp & see if you have sound. you can also remove the speaker wires from the sub & using multi meter read the ohm's of the sub, most subs are 4 ohm. Hope this help locate your problem

SOURCE: no audio output - Marantz 2238

This can be as simple as a poor connection somwhere in the voltage regulator circuit or a defective driver transistor or output transistor. In any case, this is a simple repair for any shop that works on vintage receivers. If it is the outputs, that will be the most expensive repair from a parts perspective. The outputs will cost in the $5-$10 range for each one and it could be 2-4 pieces. If you wish to attempt this repair yourself, you will need a multimeter that has a diode checker. Let me know and I'll provide additional details and instructions.

SOURCE: Avalon 737 Pre Amp Repair (New York City)

If you are not looking for a warranty repair, any shop that handles high end audio repairs should be able to resolve this for you. Before you ship off the pre-amp, verify that it is, in fact, the pre-amp that is defective. The initial stage of the power amp can cause this as well. Try hooking up another pre-amp instead to verify the problem location.

Keep us posted,

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V2700 no sound from any speaker outputs

Make sure that you have the correct input signal selected.
Also, check if the sound is not muted.
If you have a multi-room speaker switch, make sure it is set correctly to main speakers.

When trying to install a game on my pc i get a error message (cannot install on WIN32s and NT machines) what does this mean

Why are there so many programs that don't run on Win32s? There are a number of reasons. To summarize:
The programmers must address Win32s specific problems; for example, good memory management is necessary to prevent resource leakage. That means extra work, of course. Additionally Win32s needs program and DLL sections that can be omitted in Win9x/NT. Another reason is that all the newer development tools do not support Win32s anymore (the last MS Win32 SDK that ships with Win32s is from 1996, for example), and today's compilers' defaults are usually incompatible to Win32s as well.
Now the details:
  • If a program uses Win9x specific functions of any kind, multi-threading, relies on fixed addresses (meaning that it lacks relocation tables) or simply uses Win32 functions that aren't implemented in Win32s, then it won't work. In case of lacking relocation tables Win32s simply doesn't understand the format of the executable (resulting in an "Invalid format" message).
  • The registry database is another problem, especially if the program's keys contain spaces (" ").
  • Console mode apps can run if they're well-written (e.g. have relocation tables etc.), but there are no output possibilities, which means that one can't see what the program is telling the user, including help texts, unfortunately. Additionally, they must be started from Windows; unlike in Win9x, starting them directly from a DOS box doesn't work. Examples of working console mode apps are the Win32 console mode version of the web server Xitami 2.4d7 and the image converter NConvert which comes with the Win9x/NT version of XNView (which BTW, is identical to the "Win 3.x" version, except for other language DLLs).

No Sound From My Center Speaker

on the yamaha amps you can do a speaker test to see if all the channels are working. once that is complete and working you should check the disc to see if it is true digital or dolby pro-logic. normally on the disc menu you can select this.
