Does your key stays in the ignition position? or can you turn it back to acc or lock? it might be a stuck ignition switch mechanism inside or a shorted circuit that latches the ignition...have it checked or you can try to open it the switch yourself..but with caution if this is your first time. Pls give me a feedback. thanks!

One of the pins inside ignition may have gotten stuck. You can try tapping lightly with ballpeen hammer around igniton to see if pins loosen up. Otherwise, you can try to wiggle shifter to see if keys turn. With shifter in park, press up past park and you should be good

My ignition switch gets stuck in the ACC postion which drains my battery since the car is not technally off. The key will come out in the acc position and the car will start (after it's been jump...

If the key comes out in any position besides lock, the lock not the switch needs replaced. Most commonly caused by years of heavy keychains. They pretty easy to change out and not to expensive, typically under 20. Sounds like the little springs are worn. This will fix problem of being able to remove key in acc position. And in lock position should prevent a battery drain.

Keys Stuck in the Ignition , preventing turning off the engine.

Is the key stuck because you have an automatic transmission and you are unable to shift it into P (park)?

Key locks in the ignition in the ACC position. can't take key out

when you turn key to acc pos that is telling the ignition to go into a accessory mode which runs the radio, wipers etc... but it doesnt allow the ignition circuit to run, and the key in most vehicles will not be able to come out, this is a security protection so that you do not leave accessories on that will drain the battery. The ignition key should only be able to be removed in the OFF position.

Ignition switch won't turn on!

In the same boat and Saturn just plain sucks. Glad they are shutting their doors. You ignition lock cylinder is bad. Good thing is that its stupid simple to fix bad news is the ignition has to be the ACC position to pull it out. Another real smart move these idiots decided to do. If you have a bad ignition lock you have a 50-50 chance it will seize in the freakin lock position making it impossible to get it to the ACC position. Anyway here is the link to a utude exact video on how to pull it out in 2 minutes to replace if your lucky and can get it to the ACC position.
