I've had this camera for a while now and it just stopped working. I thought it might be a battery, so I replaced it, still will not power up, Any help would be great!
Well.. the EOS 630 is a really old camera.. they don't last forever.
First thing I would recommend... test the new battery with a volt meter or battery tester, just to make sure it didn't die on the shelf. Or try another one, just to be sure.
Next, check the battery contacts, preferably under a magnifier. You could have corrosion, or a bent contact, that might be preventing contact with the battery.
Assuming none of those work, you have a more complex problem. It certainly might be fixable, but you'd want a good repair tech to take a look at it. However, that's probably a bad idea.. they charge by the hour for actual repairs. You can find a working EOS 630 on eBay these days for under $30, sometimes with accessories. I wouldn't spend much money trying to fix this, but a few checks around the battery area are a good idea.
