I have an HP computer with an optical mouse and keyboard. Last night we lost power. When I rebooted the pc, the keyboard works;but the mouse does not. I replaced the mouse batteries;but no change. After replacing the batteries I noticed that the red light went out after a few minutes. I replaced the batteries again, and the same thing happened. Any one help me figure out whats going on?

There should be reset / resync instructions on back side of wireless keyboard. Basically, press reset button on keyboard, then press reset button on mouse. this should resyncronize both to PC.

My best guess is your mouse blew during the power-out.

Besides, ...when you replace your mouse, you ideally want to get a "laser" mouse. Not "optical". Laser is much more responsive, more accurate and not as tempermental.

My Logitech LX3 optical mouse has stopped working completely. If there is a battery in it where the heck is it? I don't see anywhere on the mouse where a battery could fit in it. Please help! Francine

The LX3 is a wired USB mouse so it doesn't have a battery. So the next issue: is the mouse plugged in directly to the computer or into a USB hub? Try changing the port that you have the mouse connected. Check that the USB ports are active (not disabled for power savings or security) For Windows, the first is under the Advanced settings for the Screen Saver. The second is in the device manager. Try the mouse on another computer if possible. Try a different mouse on the computer. Check if other USB ports work with known working devices. For a Windows machine, you might try uninstalling the USB device and then reinstalling the drivers after a reboot. For laptops, try resetting the unit. On my HP laptop, I lost all USB devices at once for a part of the day. In that case, unplugging the AC charger and removing the battery was required to recover the USB ports.

If you have an older OS, make sure the drivers are installed. (This mouse is not compatible with Windows 95.) If you use a USB to PS/2 adapter, try a USB port and reboot the computer.

Wired mice frequently get damaged cables so I'd recommend replacing it. There was a 5 year warranty on the mouse when purchased new.

I hope this helps.

How do I make my mouse work I got an hp computer

You should just be able to plug it in and reboot the computer.
If it has software, install it and follow the instructions. If you have done all this, check the battery in the moure and replace it if needed.
Other than that it may be a bad mouse or receiver.

Hello!
I'd like to suggest this. First, unplug the keyboard. Reboot your PC. Than plug in the keyboard and reboot the PC again. If the PC still doesn't recognize the keyboard, than the problem lies with the keyboard.

My PC cannot see my mouse. please help.

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud

Logitech wireless keyboard

  1. Here's a few generic troubleshooting steps for a wireless keyboard you can go through.
  2. I assume its RF wireless since you did not mention Bluetooth. It operates at 27Mhz which makes it susceptible to interference from common consumer electronics, so make sure area is clean of any electronic devices.
  3. Some wireless keyboard models provide a channel selection switch to switch to other channels to escape interference
  4. Having the wrong driver or missing Driver will cause it to not work. Go to device manager, find your keyboard device, right-click on it and update driver. Also you can uninstall the driver, then reboot and plug and play should pick it up and load driver. Or re-install original driver if it was on a disc. Driver is important so do all you can with the options you see. Well that's it, good luck, and let me know how it turned out.
