Sounds dumb I know, considering I put the platter on there in the 1st place and there's only 2 screws connecting it to the body of the turntable.I unscrew the two screws securing the platter to the turntable but the platter won't come off. I've had the turntable well over a year and recently the platter is making this grinding noise, I want to take the platter off to see if any debris is caught, but cant cos the bloody platter won't budge!! Any Help greatly appreciated!!!!!

The platter needs a drop of oil as the platter and motor shaft is a machined fit, Via brass upside down v as the platter will be reversed ie: a A WITH NO LINE . You can place two plastic wedge shaped blocks ,one on each side of the platter with even pressure and work up.

Lift the rubber mat off the platter and notice the two large holes for your fingers to fit into. Simply lift the platter off the base by pulling.
