Do a model number search on your computer on the Internet. It should bring back some specs and who makes it. After that typed how big of a hard drive after the model number.

Hi i m hems i m upgrading hard disk on my ( acer aspire 1641nwlmi ) laptop hard disk is 160 gb but it's not detecting my new hard disk , my new hard is ok but i have quistion 160 gb is supporting my laptop...

The Aspire 1641 is supplied with a 80Gb hard drive. If the new 160Gb hard drive is not detected in the BIOS then the BIOS cannot support this size hard drive.
Check your manual/specification to see the maximum size hard drive it can support.
You can install the 160Gb hard drive in an USB hard drive adapter case and use it as an external USB hard drive.

Has anyone upgraded an Epson P-5000 hard disk to a larger capacity drive? if so how is it done?

Hard Disk Upgrade Can I upgrade or install a larger hard disk drive in my Viewer?

The P-5000 includes an internal 80GB hard drive which is specifically designed to work with this product. There are no hard drive upgrades available for this product. If you try to install another hard drive, it may damage or adversely affect the operation of the product. This type of damage or operational failure is not covered by the product's warranty.

Upgrade my Dell Dimension 4400 Service Tag 43L5811

You can upgrade to practically the maximum available amount of harddrive space as long as the new drive is IDE. The following picture shows the drive you require:

A guide to replace a hard disk for this PC is available here.

As a rule of thumb, you should buy the maximum size hard disk you can afford as it improves the performance.

You can choose from any brand but choose the one with maximum warranty.

PS. There is no need to go into any kind of numbers; just ask the vendor to give you a certain size IDE hard drive eg a 250GB Western Digital IDE hard drive.

HDD upgrade to extensa 6601 Wlmi.

The BIOS determine the maximum size hard drive that can be installed in the laptop. Put a smaller hard drive in the laptop say 120Gb hard drive, you will lose approx 10% in the formatting process.
Use the 180GB in another laptop or put it into an USB hard drive adapter case and use it as a portable external hard drive.

Maximum hard disk support

this hard drive size will work with your motherboard but the problem is the size will be detected only up to 130 GB or less, so if you will be using that size of hard drive you will just waste it.. so better use a 120 GB of hard drive or upgrade your motherboard so you can use a 250 GB.....

Hope that helps.............

UPGRADING

That unit it about 10 years old.
Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade the CPU (processor)

The RAM is a standard 100MHz non-parity SDRAM SODIMM. The 2645 can use 128MB DIMMS for 160MB maximum. It has 32MB internal and two slots.

The hard drive size is limited by the BIOS. Any standard 2.5" hard drive should work, but may show as limited size, maybe 20GB.

Get a PCMCIA modem.

If you found a docking station for this unit, you'd be in better shape. Like I said, it's 10 years old. It won't be easy.

Dell c600 latitude Motherboard

The video card is NOT upgradeable.

the system should support a 120 GB HDD

NOTE: This system is old enough to be considered operationally obsolete and not a good candidate for an upgrade. Especially with new portables starting at $499
