We have an x3480 printer which won't print. the error message lxcypswx.exe comes up on screen, please can you help?

This is almost certainly part of a driver installation problem that has carried over.

Use add remove programs and remove any / all lexmarks software AFTER you have unplugged the printer from the computer.

Next go here for the regular 3480 or here for the dsg version.

Download the correct one and install. Make sure you follow onscreen exactly as it says.

That should fix the issue but if you do have any futher issues reply to this post

Try uninstalling the software and rebooting the computer then reinstall the software etc, especially the drivers. They usually tell you when to plug the printer in via usb usually after the software is install it will tell you when to plug it in.

Have just put in a new cartridge in X3480 now comes up with alignment error how can I solve this

Make sure the paper type is appropriate
Clean the printhead
Align the printer using the control panel
--Touch the Tools icon on the touch screen.
--Touch Tools .
--Touch Align Printer .
When the alignment is complete, the product prints a test page and the control panel displays a message indicating whether or not the alignment was successful.

I am trying to print and it saying Cartridge Error, Error 1203. The cartridge is new so not sure what problem is

Hello Error 1203 is an issue that occurs either when a cartridge is bad or the printer cartridge Slot is bad...

1 - try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..
or
2 - when error shows up, shut the printers power off; wait one minute and turn it back on press copy.

In this case you may try to change the print format of ur printer in order to do that please contact Dell at 1-800-WWW-DELL......

It just won't print!

try to make un-install drivers for the printer, then reboot and install driver agin.
I think, it might be your driver currepted and cause this problem.

X3480 cover open message

Ajkill is right, although his description isn`t very exact. Take off the complete scanner part: (back hinges first, then the blue arresting lever at the front), disconnect the flat band cable and the power supply for the scanner part and take off the complete scanner part. You´ll see a triangular part that goes in a slot of the dark grey cover which covers the rest. It should press againt a white lever which itself presses a little black switch sitting on the printed circuit board. If this white lever has fallen off the switch is always in "Cover open" position. To get it and reposition it (if it isn`t broken) you have to take off the dark grey cover which covers all the rest: take off the front screws and carefully lever out the sides with a small screw driver. Good luck with the repositioning, it is very fiddely and to see how and where it has to go you best use a magnifying glass!  But I could manage it and my printer is working now again. And good luck with fitting it all together again without breaking anything!

Cartridge error

How I solved this problem was, I took out the color cartridge (which seem to be the one giving the error message) and worked only with the black ink (and chose print black and white )

My color ink cartridge had been refilled at Walgreens. The Black ink cartridge is an original Lexmark
