To get the manual go here:

Drivers and software for supported OS versions are available here:
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp210#DriversAndSoftware . If you want the scanner to work when you press the buttons on the unit, you will need the MP Navigator.
If you connected the USB cable and got a generic driver, uninstall that driver and then disconnect the USB cable before installing the software from the above site. This generic driver usually only runs the printer.
There is a monitor program that listens for button presses on the all-in-one. This must be running to scan from the unit. However, the software must be set up with destinations and default settings before the MP Navigator will work with those buttons. Thus you should first launch the software from the computer and learn the resolution and other details to set as your defaults. Place documents face down on the glass or face up in an Automatic Document Feeder.
If you have some versions of Windows, you can acquire scans if the basic Canon driver is installed without the full Canon software. For XP, Vista and Win7, Paint will work - File > Import from Camera or Scanner > New Scan. Vista and Win7 both have Windows Fax and Scan (New Scan). Vista includes Photo Gallery which also imports from the scanner. (For Win7 this is part of the Windows Live free download but isn't preinstalled.)
I hope this helps.
