Error 0x80040707 i tried to install a game and i get the error 0x80040707 so i don't know what i need to do? by the way I don't like to change something from my hardware

i think something is wrong with the game..no .dll file no game, or maybe you'll need to crack and patch the game...without a crack folder or a patch folder i cannot help...sorry

Try to obtain a new copy of the installer from the manufacturer's website. Make sure you download the appropriate driver for your operating system.

f you're getting this error message as part of an installation or upgrade routine, here's one of the easiest ways to circumvent the problem:

1. Go to the directory that holds the file for launching the installation (for example, Setup.exe).
2. Right-click on the installation file and select Run As.
3. Uncheck the box that says Protect My Computer And Data From Unauthorized Activity, and click OK.

Alternatively, if you're running this installation from a CD, you may need to simply clean the CD and try the installation again. Another possibility for resolving this error is to run Windows Update on the system before running the installation routine.

Listen, you do not need that CD! This is already configured. That cd is for other types of troublesome operating systems that just cannot seem to get is DNS settings right such as windows XP. The cd is for XP only you do not need this with vista.

You are missing a Direct X control that the player is looking for - check your security settings to make sure you are not blocking a key download. :-)

Any error code beginning with "0x" is related to a problem with incompatibilities with the InstallShield program which is used to install all of the components. To fix this find the "InstallShield" folder on the computer (the location varies by computer OS, but is generally located in "c:\Program Files\Common Files\") and move the contents to a new folder on the desktop of the compter. If everything works well you can discard the new folder (and the old InstallShield contents). Run the Nikon installer again and it will install properly.
