Kenmore 80 series top loader the washer will not fill with cold water only hot water

The washer will only fill with hot water. If you put the water setting on cold cold or warm cold it does nothing. I can see the cold water is filling the hose coming from the valve, it is like the water is blocked from entering the machine does anyone have a solution to this problem. Please let me know it is very frustraighting. Thanks Patrick

Same thing - no cold water into the washer. Wondered why it took so long to cycle through, then my clothes started shrinking which made me think the dryer was too hot (it wasn't). Then, I thought to open the lid while the washer was filling and I saw two little trickles coming out of the cold water hose. I thought. If it isn't coming out here, where is it coming out? Needs repair, but I'll try taking off the hose and seeing if it is blocked with debris. Dang, where is a man when you need one?

The washer will only "trickle" cold water when I've got it on cold wash. Warm wash is straight HOT water. I've removed hose & it was clear (even bought a new one just in case) & still having the same problem. I've found my repair parts list...could it a "valve, water mixing hose, inlet"? If so how do I get at it?

Yes patrick you can try removing the cold hose from the washer, look inside the valve for a metal screen. If it has sediment blocking it remove screen, clean it and reinstall. If still no water replace inlet valve.

Where is the reset button for a kenmore 80 washer wont stop filling water level

If this is a top loader then the vacuum line has come off of the dashpot or the water level switch is broken. UNPLUG the power-Standing in front of the washer, pry off the plastic trim strips on the left and right of the dash (control panel) Now you'll see a screw at the bottom where the strips mounted, remove ans KEEP the screws, now the dash will lift up and fold back, giving access to the parts.

My Kenmore front loader sometimes fills with warm water on cold setting.

Most washer today use automatic temp. control fill valves. If water is too cold the control might mix in some hot to bring up to a preset temp. The same is true when control set for hot. For energy savings cold water will be mixed in to maintain a semi hot temp. Check with manufacture just to be sure.

Hot water just trickles in both of my Kenmore top loader washers

Try reversing hot for cold hoses and see what happens. That will test your valves, hot water pressure, etc. As far as I know, the valve screens are right where the hoses hook up.

Won't complete cycle, stops at rinse. and can't get hot water.

Are you on well water? turn off the cold water to the washer and clean the screen filter out. do not leave filter out.
the machine probably has a cold only final rinse so it won't work properly.

Kenmore 80 series model #110.26882503 fills slowly

Yes, the only other thing I would do and you may have done this is to put the hose directly over in the washer tub and turn the water on to check the flow. If that's good then replace the water valve.

Kenmore 80 Series will not fill up with water

if your washer will agitate when set to fill but not fill, then your pressure switch is bad.
also you may want to check and see if you are getting both hot and cold to your washer.
