My whirlpool gold isnt getting the top dishes clean, i understand it could be the filter how do i check it?

Under the bottom plate there should be a screw in filter .The top should be visible .Graspping the top turn counter clockwise into it is free. Clean and replace.I found a dish scrubber brush to be the best way too clean the. Filter

I think you want to mean it is not cleaning properly..

First perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest setting possible and perform a wash cycle.Then start using a dishwasher most probably that would solve the problem. If this does not solve the problem then there must be some parts worn out or faulty creating the problem.

There are many probable causes of failure .

To clean the dishes the water temperature is essential.It the water is not hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly.So check the water temperature.

Also check the filter in your dishwasher.Clean the filter if there is accumulation of debris in the filter

If you are in an hard water zone , then try reducing the amount of detergent used and then try cleaning the dishes

remove the pump screen and, clean the pump
you probably have broken glass preventing the pump impeller from moving

Either:

1. not enough water gets into the dishwasher. check water valve, water level float and water pressure.
2. the pump is clogged - there is water, the motor will run but no water is circulated. Check pump filters, check chopper and impeller.

check your water temp it has to be at least 125 degrees if it aint that then check your water heater

are you in a hard water area such as florida ? do you have a water softener? if so take a can of frozen concentrate orange juice and put the frozen hunk in the bottom of dishwasher and run for one cycle. the citric acid will dissolve undisolved soap . this works much better. than vinegar which will only remain through the first cycle and then drain out as for the already grey glasses wash them in a solution of equal amounts red wine vinegar and water with just a touch of dish soap using a sponge.
