Have a magic chef oven, f1 display after self cleaning, stove top works fine, any thoughts

F1 Defective touch pad or clock (ERC) Replace touch pad or clock (ERC). Touch pad is a more common problem. Refer to F1 test at the top of this page for more information. F3 or F4 Shorted or open oven temperature sensor (RTD) Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

This is the classic F1 error which is usually caused by a component failure in the control board. We repair a lot of this type of controller and would be happy to have a look at it for you if you can have the controller removed and sent to us.

You have 2 choices.
Replace the electronic control(clock).
Or, replace the range.(stove).

you know i am thinking more towards a bad temp probe.

F1 means, defective touch pad or control.

the burners on my magic chef stove work but the flame is not as high as it should be on one burner. I switched the top of the burner with another and it did not solve the problem.

this code is suggesting that you might need a control board.
