Try cleaning the drain plug. I did this in about 5 minutes and was amazed at how much debris was clogging up the drain. Mine was accessible by removing two screws at the bottom of washer and removing panel. Drain plug was right there and easy to unscrew. Be sure to have a cookie sheet or other pan to catch the water that will flow out. Once that drain is clear, thumping should stop because water can flow down the drain easily.

Frigidare Gltf1040as0

Good Afternoon Carrie,

I understand that you are hearing a loud noise in the spin cycle as well as water leaking from your Frigidaire washer, model# GLTF1040AS0.

You will commonly hear a high pitched "jet engine" noise during the spin cycle. If you are hearing a vibrating noise, it could be your washer is not resting firmly on the floor. With this you will adjust the leveling legs so the washer is level. If after leveling your washer you are still receiving a vibrating sound, you might want to redistribute the wash load inside your appliance.

If after you redistribute the wash load, you are still hearing a loud noise in the spin cycle, I suggest contacting a local authorized technician.

For the leak I recommend contacting a technician. This way they are able to find where the leak might be coming from and repair it before there is any damage done to your appliance. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

What would cause a water leak from the bottom

Sounds like a clogged water pump. I have Kenmore model 417.44102300 (by Frigidaire) and in searching for solutions to my loud thumping during spin, have come across online threads that discuss the water pump being clogged [with sludge]. You can google my model and "water pump" and you should see some forum solutions show up. It seemed like an easily fixable problem, even if you are not technically adept.

Machine making loud noise on spins cycle

Well, the only time the washer (speedqueen) is noisy on spin is if one or both the bearings are faulty. Normally when you get a leak, it means the hub/flange and seal kit need replacement and this also includes the top bearing because when soap suds leak past the seal assembly it drips directly onto the bearing. The acidic properties in the soap suds eats the grease in the bearing which ends up becoming defective. One can also get an anoying squeek if a bottom base gasket is worn or removed. This would be audible even on wash cycle. Conclusion, check the bearing on top of gearbox.

Very noisy and loud vibrations on spin cycle of Frigidaire FTF2140FS front load washing machine

Is it just during the spin cycle that it machine is noisy or the noise is less during the wash cycle? Also is the noise a thumping type of noise or is it more of a whining or steady noise? If is a whining noise, it probally means that water has seeped past the seal and corroded the bearing of the washer. The noise is the failing bearing.

Water leaking out the bottom load rumbling while spinning.

Oh boy.. You most likely have a defective rear tub bearing that caused a seal failure and the resulting water leak. Try to avoid using standard detergent in your next front load machine.
You are looking at a very expensive repair.. I'm sorry.

Frigidaire was tub makes loud thump noise during spin cycle....

Need more information to make an accurate diagnosis, try removing the front panel (two screws at bottom) and visually check first the belt (all the way around) and then the springs that hold the tub suspended.
I would bet on the belt.

Loud spin cycle/water leaking

If your washer is making a "freight train" like noise in the spin mode, ( loud roaring ), this is often the spin bearing built into the bottom area of the transmission that is worn out. This bearing is part of the transmission and means a new transmission is required. The noise is usually a result of water leaking from the center seal and bearing area onto the transmission. This water washes out the bearing and it gets very noisy in the spin cycle!! Do check the easy stuff before condemning, nail/pin caught in one of the inner basket holes, nothing is caught in the drain pump, the inner wash basket is not loose and wobbling around.

Help Please!

2 screws across the bottom of front panel will allow the front panel to slide off, then you can get an idea *** to where the leak is happening. fill with just a little water and advance to spin
