Motor works, but no impact at bit

The motor works and sounds like it is impacting inside the case, but doesn't transfer power to the bit. It is stored on my work truck laying on it's side and is succeptable to some moistre and has some rust on the outside. was wondering if something was stuck inside and i could add some grease or lubrication to free it up?

Looks like the hm1500b

because you say you hear it impacting inside seems like the impact bolt (#10 on the diagram) got stuck prob from a bad (tool holder seal #9 on the diagram) or the impact bolt #10 is stuck in the impact bolt holder(#12 on the diagram).......it doesnt take much to open the front end (4 bolts) but when putting back i would use loctite...they do sell service kits for it..the parts diagram can be obtained at www.makita.com under service

It soulds like either the striker is stuck or the ram. Unless you are mechanically inclined I would recommend taking to a repair shop. If you are give me the exact model number and I will see if they make a repair kit and get you a schematic for this tool before you start dissassembly.

Do I need to put oil in a brand new Titan 24volt impact wrench

I have never used that brand of impact, but I have used many others and I have never known an electric impact or drill to need oil. You need oil in an air powered impact because the air motor needs lubrication. The electric motors in electric impacts have sealed bearings and brushes that are meant to run dry. The actual impact assembly should be sealed as well, it should not need any oil.

Spins fine free.when coupled to bolt there's no hammer action.just stalls. Thanks

If debris has been entering tool over time, the vaines will not make good contact to cyl. wall. Flush out gun with kerosine or diesel fuel to clean interior of the gun. If dirty, the first flush will be very dark and every flush after that will become more clear. After good cleaning/flush, add tool oil and retest tool. If tool begins to hit but not full power, you may have to open tool and remove scratches from the vaines. Make sure that you use the largest quick connect fitting possible. Sometimes the tool will loose power if you are using 1/4 inch connections and the vanes are not in good shape. Good luck

My four wheel drive is not working. i replaced the switch on the dash. tried it and all it did when i hit 4-hi both 4-hi and 4-lo blink a few times the it goes back to 2 wheel drive. it did stay in 4-hi...

It's the transfer case motor.I had the same problem exactly and replaced, now it works great. Part is about $100.00 ( aftermarket ) .Ifyou are going to replace yourself you will have to remove front drive shaft and remove yoke from transfer case with an impact wrench for clearance to remove transfer case motor . When you put the new transfer case motor in make sure you line up slot with grove in transfer case motor. Good Luck.

Hi from dublin,my third dewalt dw054 impact 14.4v cordless drill, they all lose power,as if the switch does not work, but i think the motor is gone.. They all went the same way after two years..great drill...

Hi there, the first thing you need to do is check the carbon brushes, there will be two of these one at each side of the motor, if these are ok then test if power is getting to the motor, to do this you will need to split the casing on the tool in half. You may need a torx driver to undo the screws on the casing. Once you have removed the screws, very carefully split the casing making sure you leave the gearbox assy, motor and switch in the other half. Insert battery onto the unit and get someone to hold the motor in place just incase the machine starts. get a voltmeter, follow the wires from the switch to the motor and where the wires attach to the motor put the probes of the voltmeter and pull the switch to engage it. You should be gettting a good voltage now, If you are then the switch is ok. hope this is of some help

No power in forward

If the motor is working good then the problem is with your hammer and anvil. One side is probably worn more than the other. This occurs when the impact is being used more in one direction. If the motor is what is hanging up, you have an end plate problem and they need to be honed or replaced and the rotor needs inspection.
There may also be restricted flow of air that is causing your problem. Check to make sure air flow is good inside tool. Ports should not be jammed with any debris. Sometimes scale from inside pipes builds up and can cause problems if impact is used on an unfiltered line.

My impact driver wont go in forward or reverse what could be prob

Sounds like the problem is the trigger, or the motor. If you have a continuity meter you can check to see which one will not work. Other wise you will need to try to swap out the trigger and the motor one at a time. Generally if it is one or the other, the cost of the repair is justifiable.
