Double image, green and yellow ghosts, blurred image - Flash Focus does nto do anything, convergence adjustment does not work at all

Have you tried the auto converge or flash focus adjustment? This feature allows you to adjust the convergence automatically. If it doesn't work,convergence circuit is faulty. You need to replace the convergence kit, To do this you need some basics on electronics.

Try using the Flash Focus to/or manually try to dial in the convergence. If you are unable to focus the TV using its convergence adjustment it's time to call the TV repair guy. Figure on between $250.00 and $400.00 USD.

No,need to diagnose.It a 100% convergence problems.Convergence problems very easy diagnose.The picture look like 3D,colors lines don't lines up.Fuzzy,out of focus.Convergence controls don't work to lines up any colors cross.The tech is cheating u if he said cost $125 to diagnose.If u know how to solders u could fix this convergence problems about $100.U can buy a convergence kit at Websites Tv repair World.com,Tvrepairkits.com.The shop everythings fix parts and labors only $300.

This problem is of "CONVERGENCE". You have to replace the convergence IC's which is better to buy a new one TV, Just contact any expert and replace the convergence IC's and your TV work fine again you need not to buy a new TV.

Replacing the Convergence ICs should fix the problem. They are located on the Deflection board. Sony has used a couple of different ones over the years I think they are STK-392-120's but please do not hold me to it.

Focus won't help if it is a double image. Sounds like convergence amps need to be replaced. Very typical on these.

Go to front of TV remove front bottom there you will find the focus and screen Block it has 3 on top and 3 on bottom This is to adjust screen drives and focus for each Tube R/G/B. also in front of ICs check your pico fuses they will look like resistors will be Green or yellow make sure they are good if opened they can cause your problem as well.

Is anenvolved job to repair a convergence problem,the way to go about it is to locate the convergence amplifier IC's,one for each color(red green,blue)check for loose conections at the ic's legs,after resoldering all the legs see if an improvement is present if it gets better you will be able to adjust from the custumer controls,but if no improvement the Ic's will have to be replaced.Some units have a separete board were you can adjust convergence after replacing the Ic's and other units you have to access the service menu to be able to do the adjustments but just doing this adjustments can be very challeging even for a train technician,I would suggest you seek assistance from a servicer and get an estimate.
