I can insert a CD but when I push the mode button to switch from AM/FM to CD input, nothing happens. It seems like the mode button does nothing at all. The CD eject button works just fine though. This was using a purchased CD, not a CD-R or anything like that.

Sounds like that the cd is jammed inside the players so you could either take the player out the dash and open it up yourself or take it to a dealership/repair shop for them to fix it for you.
Also there might be a small holes located under the cd slot big enough for a pin to release the cd manually?
There's a website that has all this information about all this and manuals everything totally free there are many actually but I personally like few reliable-store .. let me know if u need help
thanks
MY DAUGHTER PUT A CD IN THE CD PAYER AND NOW MY CD PLAYER DOES NOT WORK.I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN ALTIMA.THE KIND OF RADIO IS A BOSE 6 CD CHANGER.I PRESS THE CD BUTTON AND IT SAYS PUSH EJECT.I PUSH EJECT AND IT SOUND LIKE IT'S TRYING TO EJECT BUT NOTHING COMES OUT.CAN YOU HLP ME
I'am an M.B. tech- I do not beleive that this radio is mp3 compatable- iknow that the input you are refering to is used for ipod use. It very well could be that the head unit has to be programed(basically informed0 for an mp3- i would call the service dept. and ask to talk to ther best audio tech savay mechanic. Most likley the service writer wouldn.t know or give you false information because they do not stay on top of all the little tecnical changes. This fiber optic system has many programing features- most have to be done with as sds laptop(dealer software only) good luck
Same problem for me. Local garage seems to think replacing the control module in the dash will solve the problem. I also have clicking sounds behind where the relay junction box is (under dash). My problem is intermitant so I'm also thinking that replacing a relay or two might also help.
After sitting all day in the parking lot at work, I started the truck to go home and everything seemed back to normal. There must be some sort of time related reset. I have not tried pushing the MODE button again and probably won't until I need to.
nothing happens when push eject for CD
