Boot the ZVM into Recovery Mode and select Cleanup from the menu. This will reset any user defined settings, including the passwords.
To boot the player into Recovery Mode, do the following:
Insert a paperclip, earring stud, or other slender, unbreakable item into the reset hole located at the bottom of the player to press the reset button inside. You should feel a "click" when you've pressed the button. Press and hold the reset button.
While holding the reset button, slide the power switch toward the power icon and hold it there. Let go of the reset button.
When the Zen bootscreen appears, release the power switch.

Here is a quicker solution if you have already chosen Europe?
Well, thanks to my investigations I have found there is a solution. Pressing reset will not work and installing new f/w is a pain.
Instead, open your S9 system folder, and simply delete the "PARAM" file. Power off. Power up. (There is no need to change firmware at all).
You are back at the original screen. 1. Choose your language. 2. Next DO NOT CHOOSE THE EUROPE setting. 3. Third, choose your radio setting - any will do.
Try going to System>Audio Settings>Restrict Volume on your ZEN. This is a password protected feature for parental controls i guess... If this doesn't work, get a hearing aid : )
push and hold the power button and at the same time prss the play button....a system recovery window eill pop up and select the first optiom "clean up" then turn it off and on again and its done!
