You don't say what exact model your graphics card is, but you should make sure you have the latest drivers for that card for sure. Also, make sure you have at least Direct X 9.0c installed.

yeah your system doesnt meet system requirement for running windows Vista Premium. Minimum memory required is 1GB.
Another system requirement is 128memory of graphic card with DirectX 9.0 capable and WDDM 1.0 driver support.
so if you dont have graphic card system will take amount of RAM..this why computer became slow.
If you have 'other components' you can take the RAM not HDD then install it..just make sure the RAM is supported by your current system..
I just recomend that would be better using Windows XP, with less RAM required..

Well, Vista and Windows 7 require at least 1GB of system RAM to run, If I were you I'd think about upgrading with more memory. Otherwise you will experience a very slow PC, the RAM problem will then slow down your CPU and you'll end up with a big mess.

Yes. It should easily adapt a 1GB Ram. The 32bit processors can genarally take upto 3GB of RAM

intel doesnt list any vista drivers for that motherboard on there site so you might run into problems with the intergraded devices such as the ethernet,audio,chipset, & any intergraded video

You might be able to use the xp drivers but if theres problems it wouldnt be supported by intel
