Acer eeePC keyboard, usb mouse, trackpad frozen

The cursor is frozen in the center of the desktop. Keyboard works to log in to Windows but I can't even use the arrow or function keys after log in. Yes, i just installed a Sony Ericsson PC suite...definitely the cause, but how can I uninstall if All is frozen? Have restarted a few times, same story.

You can do everything you can do with a mouse with a keyboard, you just have to know the shortcuts. try finding the shortcuts or buying a cheap mouse and trying that.

I have a Toshiba LapTop Windows 7 My granddaughter pushed keys and now i can't get the cursor to move. I have tried shutting down and it is still frozen in the middle .

Are you using the trackpad to manipulate the cursor, or are you using an external mouse?

If you're using the trackpad, it may be as simple as using the Fn keys and the corresponding F keys at the top of the keyboard to enable the trackpad feature again. If that doesn't work, try plugging in an external mouse via USB port to see if that works.
If you're using an external mouse, then try to see if the cursor moves while using the trackpad.

Hopefully one of these options will give you control back over your cursor again.

Hello experts, my Acer Aspire 3050 has a malfunction on the laptop keyboard/touchpad. After power-up, at a certain point the cursor stops moving (the touchpad doesn't have any effect), and I cannot enter...

1) Is there any accidental liquid or water damage on the keyboard, if there is possibly the keyboard and track-pad fails cause it may have affected the circuitry in it.

2) See if you can access the BIOS and try to reset to factory/default settings. Save and exit. May resolve the trackpad and keyboard issue. From the BIOS you can individually disable stuff built into laptops like USB, card reader, etc. At banks and businesses, they usually disable USB controller cause you know work policy.

3) If you want to know if its hardware or software issue. Suggest you try with Linux distro like Ubuntu. Burn to a disc or make a external USB pen drive and boot from that. If the keyboard and mouse work in Ubuntu, then its a software issue. If it still doesn't work, then its hardware issue. You don't need to install Ubuntu, you can run it without installing it. Although you can install Ubuntu alongside Windows if you want to.

4) Sometimes driver issue, use the manufacturer driver, or check windows updates for the drivers. At this point i would suggest getting an external USB mouse and keyboard just to do this.

Keyboard locks randomly after login

Sound like you might have a virus - try running antivirus program - such as Avast or Antivir - which is free.
If that doesn't work, then try doing a System Restore - if that doesn't work, then do a System Recovery complete re-install - but back up your pictures and documents first as you will lose everything and you'll be starting over again fresh.

My cursor jumps around in Outlook and also highlights things

Sounds like a hardware problem with your trackpad or your keyboard. I suggest attaching an external mouse and keyboard, then disable the touchpad and keyboard drivers in device manager. Reboot and see if it still happens

Frozen keyboard & mouse on Acer Notebook

You may have a motherboard failure problem. I would ask you to check the drivers and update them but will be hard to do if you can't get past load screen. You best bet may to get a copy of system recovery and boot pc with the disk installed. Wipe computer completely clean and reinstall windows.

Acer m5640 windows vista premium home won't boot, no screen image, mouse and keyboard won't light up when connected via usb, cursor frozen on screen when last "working," fan and hard drive appear to be...

Check the processor on the machine first: is it seated properly, is the cooling fan turning on it. Next, reseat all of the memory modules in the case. Finally, test the keyboard and mouse and confirm they work; try a different keyboard and mouse on the machine. Listen for any unusual noises in the case (any noises that sound out of the ordinary), try running the machine with the side panel off if possible.

Acer monitor frozen & curser will not move.

If your mouse will not move, it is a problem with the computer, Make sure you're plugging it into the correct port. If it's a ps2 mouse don't plug it into the keyboard port by mistake.

Does the keyboard work? If you press the windows key does the start menu come up?

If the keyboard works, try using a USB mouse. If the keyboard does not work, try plugging the keyboard in where the mouse is and the mouse in where the keyboard is.
