The lamp already need replacement. To replace your lamp you need:

  • OEM RCA DLP lamp
  • flat-head screwdriver
  • T-10 & T-15 torx driver
  • pliers.
Steps: Use a pair of latex gloves.
  1. Locate the lamp through the rectangular at the back of your TV.
  2. Loosen the screw with your flat-head screwdriver.
  3. Use the two "clips" to open the compartment door.
  4. Loosen the screw on each side of the lamp enclosure.
  5. Gently pull back the tray to remove the lamp.
  6. Visually inspect the area labeled “Clip.” They are on the top and bottom of the enclosure. Between them, there is about a 3′ gap where you need to push in with your thumb to be able to pull out the rear lamp cover.
  7. Unscrew the lamp connectors with your pliers and torx driver and remove the three screws.
  8. Replace the old lamp with the new one. Be sure to put the washer back and all other parts properly.
  9. Reinstall in reverse order.

JVC LT47 that picture goes black (sound fine) after being on for awhile. Can turn TV off, then back on & it's fine. But then happens again about ever hour or so.

Hello
Hello
It is due to some loose soldering points [dry soldering we say it technically], in the power supply section of the TV. Just check for it. Check the solderings of all components, that will heat up to an extent when the TV works on. Repeated heating and cooling may make solderings to the terminals of that components to get loose. Just resolder all the suspected solder terminals, by applying a little more solder, without making any solder bridge short in between adjecent solder terminals. This must solve the problem to your tV. OK.

Looses video

There are so many thing that can cause this to happen. If you answer some questions we can narrow it down some. 1) when the picture goes black if you hit the menu button on the mitsubishi remote or on the front of the tv itself does the menu show up? 2) After it goes dark how do you get it back? do you turn it off and let it sit for awhile or can you turn it off and then right back on to get a picture? 3) what is the model number? this can be found on the back of the set. If you can answer these questions we can go forward.

Thanks!

Sony kv35s66: No picture, just sound and red blinking

This should be a quick fix. Try resoldering the vertical IC. This is a small flat IC attached to a heat sink with about 11 pins. It should be marked LA7837 or something similar. That should resolve the problem.

Keep us posted.

No picture, sound ok

I have a similar issue. Sometimes the entire screen goes black and sometimes only one-half - either the top or bottom half goes black. The only solution we have found is to gently tap the TV (usually the front side) and the picture will come back for awhile. It almost seems heat related as it only goes out after the first 10 minutes of use. There must be a fix to this.

Tv takes a minute to get picture

Greg , Sounds like a bad "jungle IC" but without knowing specific voltages it`s really hard to say, picture should show up in approximately 15 seconds not a full minute, it`s normal for the audio to be heard almost instantly way ahead of the video, part number for the IC is 875210104, generic number is cxa2154as, be prepared they are not cheap IC`s, I would probably run the set for awhile and see if it gets worse as time goes by. good luck

Sony kv35s66: No picture, just sound and red blinking

The most common problem (I have fixed lots) is the Vertical amplifier has developed a loose connection. It probably just needs resoldering. As things expand it makes and looses connection you picture goes in and out. The vertical chip is a large black chip that gets hot, over time it degrades the solder until a connection is damaged. Most newer sets have a protection circuit that senses the lack of height, and shuts down the picture tube to save it. When the picture dropped to a line on older TVs and left that way too long it would burn a line into the face of the picture tube. You then had to have the picture tube replaced along with the vertical amp. it's kinda like a screensaver for your TV.
